Dr. Blumenthal explains why we need to raise enough ($25,000 +) to purchase an Intraoral 3-D scanner/printer for the treatment of babies born with cleft lip/palette. The machine is a game changer for babies and their parents. It allows the baby to receive a special treatment called Nasoalveolar Molding (NAM) to prepare babies with clefts for surgery.
This year, we aim to raise enough ($25,000 +) to purchase an Intraoral 3-D scanner/printer for the treatment of babies born with cleft lip/palette.
Steel Magnolias are there meeting the need-
Back in 1978, Dr. Geraldine A. Stramski, treated a 9-year-old child- who had been locked in a closet most of her life- and it appeared like she was just 3.
"In some cases, the condition known as environmental deprivation syndrome-brings about death. "Without question her Improvement in physical measurements and language and development indicates that she's currently receiving excellent stimulation" the doctor wrote.
Today The Stramski Center treats many children with developmental delays. That's why Steel Magnolias raises funds in support of the center.
Dr. Feldman and his staff- are all super heroes! The Steel Magnolias help support the The Stramski Children’s Developmental Center- a special needs center that helps children and families deal with conditions, such as autism, ADHD, birth defects, learning problems, and other developmental delays.
Van's brand’s commitment continues with the release of sensory inclusive footwear designs as part of the Autism Awareness Collection. Designed specifically with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in mind, the ultra-comfortable footwear collection is offered with sensory-inclusive elements- Isn't that cool?
Early giving starts on September 14th for Long Beach Gives.

And as always, we had a blast socializing before and after our Meeting. Enjoying each other’s company makes service to the community fun.
Congratulations to Steel Magnolia member Dana Buchanan- winner of the Rotary Cup of Kindness award presented to “citizen(s) of our community who have made notable contributions to others without thought of reward, personal gain, or recognition.”
Our monthly meeting was "spinning" with great news and bubbling over with gratitude as we learned the results of our recent fundraiser. Members bought pinwheels and bubbles to be donated at the Stramski Clinic therapy program.
