We are very excited!

🎉 I had the chance to witness history today! Since his first day, Commissioner Bostick has been tirelessly working towards securing a new home for Precinct Two.

Today, Judge Stoudt signed on the dotted line, officially closing on the former White Oak State Bank building at Gilmer Road and Fairmont Street 🏦.

Once renovated, this location will house the Precinct Two Justice Court, Constable’s Office, and the Greggton Tax Office. This upgrade will not only enhance safety for Gregg County staff but also provide outstanding service to Gregg County taxpayers 💼.

The renovation will also include a drive-thru lane for the Tax Office, making it easier for everyone in Gregg County to conduct business 🚗💨.

Huge congratulations to Commissioner Bostick for his hard work in making this deal happen! 👏 Excited to see this transformation take place for the citizens of Gregg County! 🌟

Will your vehicle require an emissions test?

With changes coming to the state’s Vehicle Safety Inspection Program, this may be a question you're asking yourself.

While comprehensive vehicle safety inspections will be eliminated for all non-commercial vehicles, Texans whose vehicles are registered in emissions counties will still be required to have emissions tests.

Emissions tests are required in major metropolitan areas; find a full list of counties impacted at https://bit.ly/3L779LV.

🔌🚘 IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE OWNERS

The cost of registering fully electric vehicles in Texas increased September 1, 2023. Senate Bill 505, passed by the Texas Legislature during the 88th Regular Session, adds a $200 annual fee for electric vehicle registration. The new fee is in addition to standard vehicle registration fees and any tax otherwise due for the vehicle and does not apply to hybrid vehicles that use a combination of gasoline and electric.

Registration renewals for fully electric vehicles completed before September 1, 2023, will not be subject to the fee until their next registration renewal in 2024.

It appears there may be a scam in our area. A company named SWE Homes out of Houston is posting notices on doors stating they now own the property and you should contact them about leasing the property if you want to continue living there. There are no filed documents in the Gregg County Official Records that show they own anything in Gregg County. Please do not send them any money. Verify the ownership of the home if it could be in question. Ask questions!
