Gifted Ones (GO!) envisions a world where innovative solutions are harnessed from within a community in a way that actually satisfies the needs of that community and beyond.
Remembering 9/11
Today, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who rose to the call, and the resilience of a nation united in the face of tragedy. We remember the families forever changed, the brave first responders, and all those who continue to bear the weight of that day.
In the midst of heartbreak, we saw courage, unity, and hope. Let us never forget the strength we found in each other and continue to stand for the ideals of freedom, love, and compassion.
As we reflect, let’s commit to spreading kindness, loving one another, and building a world that honors the memory of those we lost.
🕊️ We will never forget. 🕊️
Self-Care Reminder
Hey friends, just a gentle reminder to take a little time for YOU today. Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s necessary. Whether creating a cozy corner to enjoy a cup of tea, reading your favorite book, taking a peaceful walk, or simply sitting in silence,—nurture your mind, body, and soul.
✨ Breathe deeply
✨ Release what doesn’t serve you
✨ Embrace what brings you peace
“Be patient with yourself. Self-growth is tender; it’s holy ground. There’s no greater investment.” —Stephen Covey 🧡
How are you taking care of yourself today? Let me know in the comments! 🌿✨

See you there!
We are so grateful to everyone has already donated to our summer fundraiser. Money isn’t the only resource that can make a difference at Gifted Ones, we could also use your talents, skills and time.
We are in desperate need of some DOERS. If you are the sort of person who loves organizing and implementing things and are willing to donate some time - we need you!
Specifically we’re looking for someone to help us maximize our Google Workspace and MailChimp to deliver our upcoming leadership incubator pilot. Contact our Executive Director, Diazina, if you’re interested.
The economy is intense right now and we’re all feeling it. At Gifted Ones we envision a world where innovative solutions are harnessed from within a community in a way that actually satisfies the needs of that community and beyond. To support this vision we need resources. Consider these creative ways of supporting us.
Many large corporations have programs that allow employees to submit a nonprofit for a corporate donation. They may also have matching programs which can double your own gift.
If you’re a business owner, your business can become a sponsor. Make a tax deductible donation and we’ll spotlight your business on our website and social media.
If you are retired and are receiving dividends from pretax investment funds you can redirect those directly to us and avoid taxes. Talk to your investment advisor to learn more.
We need your talent and time! We are looking for all sorts of volunteers. Get on our newsletter to stay update on our needs.
Engage and share! Support our content through likes, shares and comments (10+ word comments are amazing).
Here’s what folk are saying about the GO Mental Health Initiative The work we are doing to support Mental Health Professionals, Helpers and Healers is groundbreaking. Colette McLeod of Colette McLeod Counseling & Consulting Services brings a beautiful blend of clinical expertise, heart + soul connection, realness and humor to our spaces.
We love the dreamers, we are the dreamers. Yet it’s not enough for us to just dream, we are committed to seeing the dreams become reality.
This summer we will be running a pilot of the leadership Incubator that we’ve been dreaming of. We have 6 visionaries with passion projects they’ve been dreaming of, many for years, and together they will be nurtured by experts in self awareness, visioning, community building and project management and organization. Please consider contributing to our summer fundraiser, or contacting us to donate your time.

Our mission at GO! is to gather people who are high on passion and low on resources to provide them with support in realizing their passion projects.
We have over a dozen visionary leaders, each with unique and impactful projects and GO! needs your support to be able to help them make these projects a reality.
Each project is addressing a unique challenge within a community, engaging the community in being a part of the solution. There are some amazingly creative approaches to problem solving with massive potential for impact.
We have so many ways that we can support these leaders and projects, we just need your support in generating the resources and support to allow it to all come together.
The leadership team at GO! Is participating in the Spring 2024 Cohort of this powerful program. Sponsored by Orange County, Rollins College and the Edyth Bush Foundation there are so many supportive resources and rich teachings available. It’s such an honor to be in community with so many other fantastic nonprofits. This program is helping us take GO! to the next level of maturity and we’re SO excited!
We are so grateful to everyone who has contributed thus far to our summer fundraiser. These donations will help us continue to nourish leaders. Like we did with one of our first programs, Gifted Girls, way back in 2008.
The program took place over the summers of ‘08 and ‘09 thanks to a generous grant from the BETA Foundation. We educated girls ages 10-16 on life skills like financial management, health, s*x ed, nutrition and more.
These girls are now married and with kids of their own. Many have stayed in touch, sharing with us how impactful this summer education program was and how it informed their adulthood.
We have over a dozen visionary leaders, each with unique and impactful projects who are passionate about making a difference. GO! needs your support to be able to help them make these projects a reality.
One of our active programs is the GO! Mental Health Initiative (GO!MHi). We are so honored to have received the AdventHealth Orlando Community Investment Grant which will support this program for 3 years.
More people need mental health support than ever, and we do not have enough providers to provide them with the care they need. GO!MHi is attempting to address this challenge in Central Florida.
The United States is experiencing a mental health crisis with increased levels of unmet behavioral health needs among people of all ages.
More than 169 million Americans live in an area with a Mental Health Professional shortage.
The average mental health related Master’s Degree is $40k. After graduation, prospective practitioners must then obtain 100 hours of qualified supervision.
Typically practitioners get these hours through an employer, and they pay an average of $100/hr for the supervision. This presents two challenges:
First, they can’t be fully honest about their personal experience, triggers and traumas because it could impact their employment.
Second, they must pay an additional $10-15k for these hours on top of beginning to pay back their student loans..
GO!MHi is offering practitioners affordable supervision hours with qualified professionals where they can receive the full range of unbiased support as well as scholarships to make these hours accessible to as many as possible.
While we have generous funding from Advent Health for the first three years of this program, donations to Gifted Ones will ensure that we are able to continue this program as well as build and launch others like it in a multitude of different sectors. Contribute to our summer fundraiser to help us continue these sorts of programs

QUESTION:
What do you call it when you:
- Work yourself into exhaustion and burnout, practice putting the needs of others above your own and tolerate unacceptable conditions for the sake of the cause.
- Take a Spa Day or vacation to a beautiful location to relax, unwind and enjoy some self care.
- And then return to the same ol' grind on Monday morning?
ANSWER: I don't know what YOU call it, but it is not called WELLNESS!
So how do we achieve true sustaining WELLNESS? How do we get to give from our saucer because our wellness cup is overflowing.
Join us on zoom TONIGHT at 7pm ET as Colette McLeod Counseling & Consulting Services talks to us about "Wellness as a Daily Practice".
