Many people ask me whether or not they should stretch before they workout or go on a run. 🏃‍♀️🏋️‍♀️ While it is important to get your body moving freely before you work out, hold off on the intensive, deep stretching until after your workout, and instead focus on active stretching! This means taking your muscles and joints through their range of motion in a movement-oriented fashion, as opposed to holding stretches.🙆

The exciting news? Kinetic Technique is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!!! After about a year of preparations, waiting, planning, more waiting, and lots and lots of hard work, I finally was able to open up our new studio!!! This is such an exciting moment that came from such a long and arduous journey.

As a first time business owner, this journey came with a lot of excitement, anxiety, and unknowns, but I wouldn’t want to anywhere else than where I am right now and it will all be worth it! It all started with a vision of making private training more accessible for everyone by creating an online system to schedule and pay for sessions. We live in a digital world, and I wanted to eliminate the need to track down your trainer by phone to schedule a session or reschedule, and then bring a check to training. We built the website from scratch to accommodate YOU and everything you’ll need for success.

I’ve been working on this crocodile hand balancing skill for 4 weeks now with what felt like zero progress. Today it happened! It just goes to show that even when you feel like you’re not getting any better, your body is going through changes you don’t even realize that, with patience and perseverance, will get you to your goal! Change doesn’t happen overnight - be patient with yourself! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ginormous shout out to my mom on this Mother’s Day!!!! My mom has been my biggest cheerleader throughout my life encouraging me to follow my dreams. When I told her I wanted to quit my regular job and start my own training business, she responded with the very “mom protectiveness” reaction but never doubted my ability to become successful. She has been such a huge support in helping me start up my business from the beginning by providing emotional support, advice, personal opinion input, and training with me so I could find the confidence to believe in myself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I am so grateful for having the mom that I do! She has always trusted me to make the right decision, as crazy as some of them have been, and guided me with her lifetime of knowledge. I love you! 💕

I love to have fun when I’m training! I think having fun is the first step to developing a solid workout routine, because I don’t know about you, but I would rather commit to something that is fun rather than something that feels like a chore. I also feel that it increases morale to not take yourself so seriously, which in turn improves the quality of the workout!
