AFSCME Local 800 has been attempting to work with JVS SoCal and close the poverty gap for the employees we represent who do the day-to-day work to receive proper compensation and provide for their family.

Over 10 LA Rabbis sent a letter to JVS SoCal management urging them to live up to the “Jewish tradition protecting the rights of working people to prompt and fair payment of wages, time for rest and respect for their dignity.”

JVS GAIN has negotiations Nov. 16 - call JVS SoCal Board Vice Chair Leland Felsenthal at (310) 200-2116 to ensure a fair contract for JVS GAIN workers, some of whom make $17/hr.
A JVS GAIN member testified: “I am so tired and stressed. At the end of the month, because my bills but not my salary have gone up, I haven’t been able to save any money and I can barely survive.”
