​Margaret Garcia has worked as a painter, muralist and glass artist. Her work has been collected by several museums. Now, at age 70, Garcia is the subject of her first solo museum exhibit, "Arte Para la Gente: The Collected Works of Margaret Garcia," at the Museum of Ventura County. The show (open till Spring 2022) will feature 70 artworks, one for each year of her life.

​This fundraiser event takes place every year to celebrate the station’s beginnings back in 1999 as one of the pioneers of online radio. Over the years, as a listener-funded non-profit radio station, dublab has become a cultural institution in Los Angeles, using radio to foster a creative community of music lovers, musicians, and DJs that has expanded to affiliate stations in Japan, Spain, Germany and Brazil. The event will feature three areas of live music, DJ sets, video art and more!

Thank you for sharing this gorgeous picture of the Luckenbach House, in Angelino Heights. 🌺🏰

Built as a single-family Queen Anne style home in 1888 for businessman James S. Luckenbach, it was sold a little more than a decade later to German immigrant Kaspare Cohn, another businessman and philanthropist who established Kaspare Cohn Commercial & Savings Banks, which was later renamed Union Bank & Trust Company of Los Angeles.

With this house Cohn teamed up with the Hebrew Benevolent Society and transformed into Kapare Cohn Hospital which opened in 1902 with eight patients and a female medical director, according to the Jewish Journal.

Once the Angelino Heights hospital closed, the Luckenbach House was divided up into a fourplex, back in the 1930s. It was recently sold again in 2018 and was renovated soon after.
