Meet our October Leading Woman of the Month, Sonja Kobayashi! Sonja is a junior from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, studying Psychobiology with a minor in Global Health. On campus, she is a volunteer for Camp Kesem, a week long camp for children whose parents have been affected by cancer, and is a part of Global Brigades, an organization that implements sustainable health systems in remote or rural areas. Previously, she worked under surgeons from the UCI Medical School, and now she has started a position as a research assistant for the UCLA DiSH Lab (Dieting, Stress, and Health Lab). In her free time, Sonja loves hitting the beach, snowboarding, hiking, and jamming out to music with her friends. Keep killing it Sonja! 👩🏻‍🔬🍃🌟

Meet Sydney Stump, our September Leading Woman of the Month! Sydney is an Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution major from Ojai, California. On campus, she is a part of E3 (ecology, economy, equity), which is a club that fosters a culture of sustainability at UCLA, and she is also a part of the equestrian team! This past summer, she interned at the Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network and is interested in a career in wildlife conservation in the future with a focus on protecting fragile ecosystems such as cloud forests. In her free time, Sydney likes visiting national parks, running (she’s currently training for a half marathon), and hanging out with her chickens, Cherry and Blossom. 🐓❤️🌻

Meet our June Leading Woman of the Month, Brett Berger! Brett is a rising junior from Encinitas, CA, majoring in Economics. On campus, she is involved in multiple business clubs, including Undergraduate Business Society and Bruin Women in Business, and is also a member of the Surfrider club. The past two quarters she has been interning for a real estate brokerage firm in Marina Del Rey! In her free time, Brett loves going to the beach, watching sunsets, and doing yoga. She is also looking forward to the fall, when she will be studying abroad in Barcelona and traveling all around Europe! We can’t wait to see hear about all of her adventures! 🌴✈️💕
