Join us for our first film viewing this Friday, Oct. 18 of Breaking the Crust.
Breaking the Crust (2019) is the brainchild of in-house creative producer, Tim Wenzel, that showcases skateboarding and coffee. The short film features professional skaters Elissa Steamer, Chet Childress, Silas Baxter Neal, and Nick Boserio, some of whom have been longtime Stumptown fans and customers. The goal of the film is to highlight skate culture through professional skaters’ perspectives and give fans a glimpse into a lesser-known side of each professional.

Starting next week, we’ll be playing our Stumptown original films every Friday at our Division St. Cafe in Portland from 5:30-6:30pm.
It’s FREE for all. No need to RSVP, just show up, hang out and watch these three films near and dear to us.

And just like that, we’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first cafe we opened in 1999.
Where does the time go?!
Back then we opened up with just one employee and our first delivery car was a Pinto. While we have grown a lot, some things never change. Stumptown will always create cafes that are welcoming spaces for people to gather and enjoy the very best coffee.
Here’s a look back at photos from that first year at our Division Street Cafe.

Introducing the El Puente Washed & Natural General roast.
Located in the renowned growing region of Marcala, Honduras, one of the farms we work with is named Finca El Puente—and they produced the first lot of coffee we bought from them in 2004. We continue to be so impressed with their attention to detail regarding quality and farming practices.
It’s why every year since then, we’ve welcomed back their signature catuaí variety coffee to our cups with awe and delight and it’s why we are excited to introduce El Puente Washed and El Puente Natural roasts to you. Tasting notes below for you to enjoy.
✨Puente Washed: Juicy plum combines with lemon zest and vanilla cream in this classic cup.
✨Puente Natural: Notes of berry jam and cacao nibs are balanced by refreshing tropical fruit and black tea in this complex cup.

ART RECEPTION TODAY: Please join us at our Pacific Street cafe in Brooklyn as we celebrate our newest artist fellowship from and her show ‘Ground Floor’.
The exhibition runs from July 25th - November 12th and puts a spotlight on the beauty in the mundane and discarded, exploring compositions and subjects in the littered streets and sidewalks of New York. Inspired by her daily walks with her dog, Naomi captures the intricate patterns of flattened grass and the unexpected elegance of forgotten objects, hoping that we can reconsider our perceptions of waste and value, and find moments of wonder in the everyday chaos of life.

NY Friends! We’re celebrating pride with our Q***r Makers Market.
Join us this SUNDAY, June 23 from 10 am - 4 pm at our Brooklyn Coffee shop at 212B Pacific Street where we will feature crafts and goods from local q***r artists and makers.
We love a single origin moment and because of that we’ve got a rotating list of limited releases and our Roasters Picks always on tap. Today we’re highlighting two Organic Single Origins: Bies Penantan from our friends in Indonesia and Mordecofe from our friends in Ethiopia. These two are arguably some of the finest coffee we have to offer and both drink a little different and are rich in history and producer background stories.
First up is Bies Penantan out of Indonesia. We’ve been working with IBM Rahman, the chairwoman of the Ketiara Cooperative since 2013 and this coffee refers to a specific group of villages in the highlands where the smallholders who contribute to this lot grow their coffee. From a tasting note perspective, this coffee is full-bodied and sweet with notes of dark chocolate, pineapple and clove.
Next up, Mordecofe, short for the ‘Mora Mora River Valley Development Coffee’ which is owned and operated by Haile Gebre out of Ethiopia. We’re proud to share that we’ve been offering Ethiopia Mordecofe every year since 2006. Tasting notes include a complex and floral cup, with sparkling notes of nectarine, melon and jasmine.
Both are available on our site now.
