Lately, I’ve been amazed at what boredom does. Have you ever had the best idea in the shower? It’s the same concept.
Sometimes after a work session, I just sit and allow the stream of consciousness to run through me. It’s the best feeling ever—to “think,” or rather to receive. You find out all sorts of ideas and resolutions to your questions and problems.

The magic trick is - no screens. I find that sitting in front of a computer is just a technicality; no new ideas are coming, it’s more of an ex*****on time than actually anything real. The work in your head is where it’s at. The trick is to run the stream of consciousness, record it, synthesize it, and bring it to life.

The idea behind this is:
do the work, but let yourself be without any stimulation or screens. Let the stream of consciousness envelop you. It’s the most curious place.

Have you ever tried to build a website yourself? What was the experience like?

I discovered the concept of ‘resolves’ while reading ‘The Great Gatsby’ (Chapter 9). I hadn’t realized that I’ve always had these intentions in my mind but never put them down on paper. Resolves are an exercise in articulating what you aim to focus on, rather than simply stating what you wish to avoid. For instance, if you merely write ‘NO coke & chips,’ our brains tend to overlook the ‘NO’ and focus on ‘chips & coke,’ inadvertently serving as a trigger to crave them. Recognizing that I’ve already written ‘chips & coke’ so many times, I’m pivoting to prompt you to enjoy warm, butter rice paired with fresh, organic chicken thighs fried in a cast-iron skillet.
