Always take time for yourself. I am a nurturer when I’m in my mother mode, spending time with my mom as she struggles with dementia, when I am working on my clients, when I’m there for my friends when they need a friend, for my students as pursue their career goals... the list goes on. At the end of the day I’m drained. I have nothing else to give to no one, not even myself. I’v been long overdue. It’s time for me to take time for MYSELF. I’m relaxing more, enjoying quality time with myself. I must admit It’s a struggle for me sometimes, each day is a journey for me but I’m making it happen. I implore each and every one of you “nurturers” to take super quality time for yourself and loving yourself because if YOU don’t no one else will. 🙌🏽💫♥️

Never in a million years I imagined becoming an Esthetician and now an Adjunct Professor in Cosmetology. At one time in my life I was going through a rough time which caused my adult acne to get out of control. I needed to understand how to care for my skin so I pursued Esthetics which was a calming form of therapy for me. I wanted to learn in detail about the skin in conjunction with medical care from a physician. The physician I had at the time was providing me with oral, injections and topical medication. I needed to get to core of my systemic issues beyond medication. My journey to obtain knowledge in skincare was awesome. What I have truly learned about skin care that it is an commitment to one’s self. Some people have flawless skin and do nothing, others have to work for it diligently. But the true tips for healthy vibrant skin are the pillars of health....Diet which is #1. #2 Drinking plenty of water to help flush your system. And #3 eating healthy foods such as fruits, veggies and proteins affects your in a positive way. Sugar and foods high containing saturated fats as in fried foods are not healthy for body or the skin. Exercise is key to purge the toxins out of the body through sweat and assists in getting a good night’s sleep and relaxation which is a plus. And the most important component is your Mental State of Mind, stress affects everything in the body and the skin. Stress causes the body to go into overdrive mode which causes the body to produce an abundance of sebum (oil) and sweat, together they clog the pores producing acne and sometimes cystic acne. The key is healthy skin. Your skin is with your entire life, you must understand and nurture it through the hands of time!
