Help a student on the first days of the Fall 2024 semester by volunteering to be a CSUN Navigator! Sign up at https://bit.ly/3YLW5f8.
CSUN Navigators are staff and faculty who welcome our students at the beginning of the semester, answering questions and helping them find their way to classes and other locations. This year marks the twelfth year for the CSUN Navigators program! A preparation packet will be available on the CSUN Navigators webpage for you to download and bring to your shift.
Even if you know very little about the campus, we will provide you with all the tools you need to be a great Navigator. This is a fantastic opportunity to interact with our students and a good time to meet and connect with colleagues! Whether you are new to the program or coming back to volunteer again, all CSUN Navigators participants will attend a brief virtual training session where you will receive all the information you need to do the job.
Volunteering opportunities will be available for the first two days of in-person instruction, Monday, August 26th, and Tuesday, August 27th. Campus supervisors are asked to adjust schedules, whenever possible, to accommodate the time needed for training and volunteer hours. The 2-hour shifts will fall between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Each fall, faculty and staff volunteer to serve as hosts to over 8,000 students who stop by to enjoy music, food and spirited activities at the President's Picnic. Your help is needed to welcome new and returning students to the CSUN community and to make our celebration a rousing success.
This year’s celebration will occur on the Bayramian Hall Lawn (off of Cleary Walk). In consideration of our students’ schedules, activities will be held at two times, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29.
To volunteer for this year’s picnic, please communicate your interest online through the link https://www.csun.edu/sdtp/annual-presidents-picnic-volunteer-form.
