Little by little one travels far. I remember this day- We were finally able to find a restaurant to eat after more than 24 hrs of driving. We were dead tired and hungry. And while we were waiting for our food to arrive, I opened Google maps and realized how far from home we were in less than 2 days!! It was crazy to have crossed 3 states and be in 4th.
We explored the million old rocks,how they had eroded to form strange but beautiful shapes. This picture was taken while we were soaking in a beautiful landscape bathed in the last light of the day. At distance you can see the red rock formation AKA The Cathedral Rock, towering at 4967 ft.

Taro, once a staple of the Hawaiian diet, and still an integral part of the culture, is surprisingly not native to Hawaii. Instead, it is thought to have originated in southern India, before migrating east to China and as far south as New Zealand. From there, Polynesians brought taro to these islands, planting it near rivers and streams.

This Taro plantation produce becomes the part of the farm-to-table food movement that continues to gain popularity.

Window Into The Universe:
Located above 1/3 of Earth’s atmosphere, Haleakalā observatory is one of most important and sought after observatory in the world. This facility houses the world’s largest solar telescope, studying the solar flares and its effects on the energy flow and radiation.
This place is also home to Maui Space Surveillance Site that identifies and tracks all man-made objects in space.
Besides the excitement that this place brings to space enthusiasts, you will most certainly enjoy the landscape and views this location offers. and I choose to celebrate our first wedding anniversary here for reasons more than one. We were greeted with the most stunning sunset, night sky with Milky Way and sunrise we have ever witnessed. @ Makawao, Hawaii

Justice is served only when you see this in person. Such are the limitations of photography. Hope you enjoy this picture as much as I did creating it.

The most beautiful, dreamy, awe-inspiring coastline I’ve ever seen. There is a gentle cool stream flowing down from needle cliffs meeting the ocean. 2 giant lava rock caves that open to the ocean waters. Beautiful golden smooth sands and the clearest turquoise-deep blue water with coral reefs.
So Heavenly, I didn’t want to leave.
