Becoming a mother to this beautiful girl has changed me in ways I can't explain. My love for her knows no bounds, and I'm so proud of the young woman she is becoming - smart, compassionate, hilarious, strong, vulnerable and so insightful. Because of her, I have more understanding for my own mother who has been gone now for 13 years, and yet, is with me every day.

Dressing brides, I often witness (and sometimes help navigate) the mother-daughter relationship, and as we all know, it's complex. It's complicated. It's often messy. But it's also filled with love. I'm so lucky that I had a mother who was not perfect, but absolutely adored me. And so lucky that through the lessons I took from her, I now have an even closer bond with my own daughter.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and to the people who step in and fill the role of "mother" when we most need it. ❤️
