Art and Science Set Sail in Schmidt Ocean Institute's Artist-at-Sea Program — Colossal Aboard a research vessel, artists are provided with a berth on each expedition, exploring a wide range of global marine phenomena.

On this date in 1963, one of the Greatest Television Shows ever created was first seen. If you don't know of "The Outer Limits," buy the DVDs or Blu Rays, or find it on a streaming service through the several choices offered on YouTube. The writing was generally phenomenal, as were the casts and the direction. More than jst an assembly of great constituent parts, it had during its best hours an overpowering mood. In just two seasons on the air, this series featured some of the best hours commercial TV ever witnessed.

LASERDISC IS BACK, AND "THE GRAND EMPORIUM'S" GOT 'EM!!!

Yes, we admit it...Despite loving them dearly, we did clear out our stock of Laserdiscs a while back, but we regretted it immediately. From time to time, folks would come into the Emporium - 323 W. 7th Street in Downtown San Pedro, CA - and ask "Where are the Laserdiscs?"
Well, we've got them again, and a nice little selection it is, with special boxed set editions of "The Lion King" and "My Fair Lady," and lots of super individual titles.
Why are they back?
All my life I've been in love with their brilliance, their divine heaviness. It is one of the great technological products, and if you enjoy them, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
