Hammocks are generally used for outdoor relaxation. While the Hammock Throne™ can accommodate that purpose, it’s sleek enough for indoor use. It has a Maple wood frame sustainably grown and harvested in the USA and crafted in upstate New York. The Throne™ has a U-shaped base containing an internal CrossRoller ball-bearing for 360º rotation. Marine-grade weatherproofing lets it survive the elements outside, a 46” diameter means it doesn’t dominate indoor space, and the unique form of the hammock itself is designed to never flip over. Each purchase supports Yellow Leaf’s mission to empower people out of poverty, with each hammock handwoven by artisans in Thailand using a Weightless-Weave™ technique— the hammock consists of over 2.5 miles of super-soft yarn for ultimate comfort. Khaen is one of those sunshine-y people who brings a smile to everyone she meets. She's got a home weaving operation with her friend and her sister-in-law, so they spend their WFH days together chatting, laughing and creating blissfully comfy hammocks. Prosperity is a tricky concept. In America, there are some powerful forces at work trying to make sure we never feel like we have "enough." For our weavers in rural Thailand, prosperity comes in a few different forms. It can come from having long-term job security and the incredible new ability to make plans for the future. It can come in the form of material goods, like buying an electric rice cooker that frees up more time to spend with family. And it comes with the dignity of work well-done and fairly compensated. We are so proud of the reciprocal benefit that our customers and weavers create for each other - proof that prosperity isn't a zero-sum game.

The way our hammocks are woven is super special. It's hard to explain in words (a lot easier when you can feel it!) but the weaves are specially designed to cradle your body weightlessly. Our weavers carefully calibrate the tension of interwoven loops so that your hammock can adjust perfectly to any position you lay in. The process is so intricate that it actually can't be replicated by a machine - every single one of these babies are 100% handwoven 🙌
