A podcast about true stories of survival. #trustyourgut
Hello glorious listeners, please forgive us for that title! We promise it will make sense later (sort of). Taylor and Emily are back and this time we're joined by a special guest: the oft-mentioned but elusive Jake (Taylor's husband)! Emily saved a special story for him--a frustrating tale of what happens when radioactive material is introduced into a town in Brazil where nobody knows the danger it poses. And Taylor brings us the tale of a man named Michel Lotito, whose knew the dangers of his very strange diet, and kept on eating bicycles anyway. Grab a Smirnoff Ice or something else that reminds you of college, and sit down with us!
We're back and we've got our occasional co-host Kat with us! The three of us embark first on a journey to the ocean, where Emily tells us the uncomfortable tale of Chris Lemons and his two companions trying to survive a deep sea excursion after disaster strikes, and then Taylor tells the infuriating story of the Paradise Fire of 2018, and a heroic nurse who survived it. Grab your coolest bottle of red wine and join us!
Not only are we back, but the out-of-context quote graphics are also back!! Check out our latest ep here: https://uhohfeeling.podbean.com/e/ep-112-can-pavel-get-it/
We've missed you so, listeners! We're back with another podcast and we'd love for you to join us on this journey. Emily starts us off with talk of cryptids and a man named Roy who narrowly escapes his encounter with a Louisiana werewolf. Then, Taylor takes us down low with the story of photographer Robbie Shone, who survives a terrifying encounter in the deepest cave in the world. Grab a drink that reminds you of Thanksgiving (trust us) and join us!
Happy New Year from the Uh-Oh Feeling! We got the gang back together - new ep coming soon!!! Martinis were had during recording and s**t got wild.
It's that time of year again, listeners! We're joined by our favorite guest, Kat, and we're ready to get spooky. Emily is talking the problematic legacy of Ed and Lorraine Warren and that time a guy tried to get out of a murder charge by claiming "not guilty by reason of demonic possession." Then, Taylor regales us with the eerily real haunting of The House on Beryl Rd. Grab your nearest creepy cocktail, and sit down with us!
This episode is brought to you by entropy. Hey there! We lost the first half of this episode immediately after recording it for reasons we may never truly understand. But we salvaged it in the best way we could, and we still managed to have fun along the way. Taylor "begins" the ep by telling the story of Katie Starks, a possible survivor of the dreaded Texarkana Phantom Killer. Then, Emily gives a fast-paced version of her lost story about Adolfe Sax, inventor of the saxophone, that is fueled entirely by alcohol and rage. Grab a drink, and toast to losing audio and letting chaos reign.
✨It's Taylor's Birthday✨Let's wish her a sentient tornadlio-sized happy birthday🌪
Hello all! We're back again with another episode, and we truly did try to keep it light this time! In our defense, these stories are much lighter than our normal ones...and that's really all you can expect from us. Emily tells the story of Frane Selak, the luckiest unlucky man on earth, and Taylor tells the tale of Michael Malloy, a man who didn't *survive* so much as he just *wouldn't die.* Grab an absurd amount of booze and join us!
*Apologies for the very slight echo you might hear at certain points, we've done our best to minimize it.*
HALLO! We're here! It's ep 105, and Taylor's kicking it off with the tale of the Halifax Explosion, a Canadian national tragedy and a truly crazy story. Emily somehow gets the clap over the harp noise, but stays strong with the story of brothers Lucas and Christopher Leonard, who suffered abuse at the hands of the Word of Life Christian Church.
Happy Monday? Monday. No. Tuesday. Happy Tuesday! What are days of the week anymore. Fun fact: I, Emily, have had this ready for a bit but migraines and constant political and social crises make time a weird soup.
Have you listened to ep 104? Ep 105 drops next week and we promised Ep 106 will have stories with no deaths that are all the light.
You thought we dipped, didn't you? But we're back! We, like many of you, have abortion rights on the brain, so we tell a couple stories adjacent to that. Emily starts us off with a history of Eugenics in America, and the story Minnie and Mary, two black girls who brought the horrors of forced sterilization to light. Then, Taylor tells the story of Dr. Garson Romalis, an abortion provider who was shot in his own home. Grab a fish-bowl sized drink and join us.
Hello all! We’re back and our newest episode will be ready for your ears next Monday, but we did want to draw attention to some incredible news about a survivor we talked about in the past.
The decision to allow Chrystul Kizer to claim self-defense due to trafficking at trial could have a huge impact on her case and the criminal cases of other s*x trafficking survivors going forward.
If you would like to know more about Chrystul’s story and ongoing case, you can listen to Episode 70 of the podcast.
Thanks all. Stay safe out there.
S*x trafficking victim Chrystul Kizer wins key Wisconsin court ruling The court's groundbreaking ruling gives Kizer, now 22, a chance to be acquitted of all charges in the murder of her alleged trafficker, Randall Volar III.
With the horrifying SCOTUS decision, we'll be organizing a fundraiser much like we did for the bail fund, BLM, and families of victims of police brutality. Please stay tuned as we narrow down the best options for donating. Tonight we're drinking straight tequila and grieving. Tomorrow we start planning. There are still options and resources available.
A good starting point on a national scale:

Don't forget to stay safe and watch your back if you go to any protests or rallies over the next few weeks. Don't go alone, or if you, make sure you've notified a few people you trust of where you're going. Remember to yell with your diaphragm to not blow out your voice while marching. Also don't forget to stay hydrated and have a few granola bars or quick snacks in your bag, have a mask or bandana in case tear gas gets used, an escape path mapped out should something catastrophic happen (there's a lot of rumbles of violence at larger rallies so please be safe and be vigilant), and write an emergency contact's phone # on your arm in sharpie.
HELLO!!! It's been a minute, bet you've been wondering where we went. WELL! We were crazy busy doing a whole little ding dang show - Lizzie the Musical. Here are some pics from our adventure over the last 2 months as Lizzie Borden and Bridget Sullivan - 2 murderous peas in a pod. Tune in to our next episode to hear a bit about it as we get back into the groove of things. And we're hella excited to get recording again after making lots of new memories, reconnecting with old friends, and making new friends. Stay tuned!
Hey, it's Emily with my best graphic - definitely rivals the cow one. Even if I still think about that 2nd floor cow and if she was okay. But, we have a new ep with some other things to question available through all your favorite streaming services. Or, you could check out our revamped site (https://www.podbean.com/ew/pb-rc86k-11f8a5e) that I worked hard on and subscribe there! Enjoy the actual Ep. 103 and don't forget your can of soup!
Taylor and Emily are back and they should have eaten before recording this one, they'll be honest. First, Taylor finally goes *there* and tells the story of a 9/11 survivor, with a big twist. Then, Emily reminds us that our prison system is a joke with the story of the New Mexico State Penitentiary Riot of 1980. Grab a drink and join us!
Hey, have you listened to the ep that is absolutely not Ep 103, but in fact... Ep 102? Check it out here - https://www.podbean.com/ew/pb-darng-11e462a
Hello again! We've got gentle drinks, and rough stories on this one, folks. Emily starts us off with the story of Kevin Ramsby, who was stabbed in his own home and lived to forgive his attacker. Taylor then brings us some early Uh-Oh vibes with a few survivors of the serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, also known as the Yorkshire Ripper.
It just so happens to be one half of this podcast’s whole ass birthday today!
Happy Birthday to the incomparable Emily! We’ve had some fantastic times both on and outside of the Uh-Oh Feeling. Here’s to you, and to another year of great friends, good stories, and bad alcohol!
Hey! Have you checked out Ep 101 yet? Available for streaming on your favorite platforms or here - https://www.podbean.com/ew/pb-8vcmt-11d0954.
- Ep 100 is out and we can't wait to record the next 100. Stay tuned and make sure you like and share to help us grow!
In case you can't tell from all the screaming, this is our 100th episode of Uh-Oh! We have our occasional co-host, Kat, along for the ride, as we give each other presents, and gag on some truly terrible alcohol. We do manage to get to a couple of EPIC stories as well. Emily tells the story of Rodney King, whose encounter with police set off a 3-day riot in LA. Then Kat gives us a quick palette cleanser of a story, before Taylor launches into the tale of the Chowchilla kidnapping and their favorite survivor to-date. Enjoy! And thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. 100, baby!
Did you miss us? Ep 100 drops tomorrow! Thank you for your patience, our shows are done and we're back!
HI! Guess what - when we recorded ep 100, we made an announcement in there that we'd be hiatusing because I was directing a show and Taylor was acting in another show that were both happening at about the same time. We've both been so insanely busy, we didn't even think about the fact that ep 100 hasn't been posted yet (3.5 hours of content is a lot to edit with no free time, y'all - props to Taylor for her efforts on this beast).
Well - the end is in sight. My show closes this weekend and Taylor goes into tech next week so we should be back to our regular selves with some awesome content in March. Just in time for my birthday. Consider it my gift to you. Keep an eye on our social media for the rest of Feb as I attempt to do some mini content to fill the gaps while Taylor does some awesome work on stage.
A little red death as a holiday treat as we record ep 100
