30 Days of Celebrating Youth: Explorers & Innovators.
As we move into September, we are thrilled to launch "30 Days of Celebrating Youth: Explorers & Innovators," a month-long series dedicated to honoring the remarkable achievements of young people from diverse backgrounds. This series, which is part of our ongoing "Celebrating Diversity" initiative, shines a light on the brilliance, creativity, and courage of youth who are shaping our world in extraordinary ways.
Why Celebrate Youth?
At the heart of Unitarian Universalism is a deep commitment to the inherent worthiness and dignity of every person, as well as a belief in justice, equity, and compassion in human relations. Our faith calls us to nurture the potential in every individual and to support the next generation as they take the reins of leadership, innovation, and activism. This series is a testament to that commitment—a celebration of the young visionaries who are already making a profound impact in their communities and beyond.
Throughout September, we will highlight 30 young individuals who have excelled in three key areas:
Science and Technology: From inventors and environmentalists to tech prodigies, who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, using their skills to solve complex global challenges and advance knowledge.
Arts and Humanities: Here, we honor young activists, artists, and thinkers who are using their stories and talents to advocate for social justice, challenge norms, and inspire change through creative expression.
Sports and Community Service: This segment celebrates athletes and community leaders who exemplify the spirit of teamwork, resilience, and dedication, both in their respective fields and in service to others.

Day 30. Reform Not Punishment.
The US Justice system is both broken and designed to overly criminalize and incarcerate people of color, the poor, and other marginalized people, including those who are gender diverse. Democracy is strongest when it includes everyone, therefore the time to demand reform is now. We need to vote to shutdown this system that celebrates capitalism, racism, and heteronormativity and disenfranchises all others. The Vera Institute of Justice is here to teach us how we can engage in reform, both through direct action and at the ballot box. Vote for policies that promote equity and inclusion.

Reproductive justice means access to safe, legal abortion and comprehensive healthcare. We cannot let the government decide who lives and dies, who has a family, and when or how that family should come to be. Our vote this November will protect not only a right to chose an abortion but also access to IVF and other means to responsible family planning. Vote to protect these all reproductive healthcare rights.
