"Fidelidad" de Briton Rivière en 1869.

Fidelidad muestra a un cazador furtivo y a su fiel perro a la espera de juicio en prisión. Las leyes contra la caza furtiva en la época victoriana se administraron con gran, pero decreciente severidad. Rivière aprovechó la oportunidad en esta pintura para combinar dos de sus temas favoritos, el cazador furtivo y el perro como compañero en dificultades. El crítico del Art Journal admiró particularmente al perro, describiendo cómo era "muy admirable por la expresión de simpatía y compasión que le da a su amo".

I was looking at this shot again, years after having shot it with my camera on a photo shoot others were doing.

It really came out nicely, especially the diagonal with the light vs. shadow.

She was a great model!
