Bagua Deer Hooks vs Xingyi Sun & Moon Blades at chiflow.com:
The Spear is often referred to as the King of all ancient weapons, because of it's length and "needle-like" shape. There are few tools that train explosive force as profoundly as the spear. Our spear video features archival footage of Wu Ying Hua and Ma Yueh Liang demonstrating the 24 Strategies and the 13 Methods respectively, as well as both of these T'ai Chi legends demonstrating the "Sticky Sticks" or two-person spear set. This upgraded video presents front and rear demonstrations of both forms with the names of the forms translated into English, and a variation of The 13 Methods Set. Highly Recommended for Wu Stylists and any practitioner interested in developing explosive force. We also have additional instruction on power development with the spear on our Wu Style T'ai Chi Power Training Series. http://store.chiflow.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=WUDVD7D

This commonly used Chinese idiom 化干戈为玉帛 (Huà gāngē wéi yùbó) translates to "turn weapons of war into gifts of jade and silk." Its meaning refers to transforming conflict or hostility into peace and harmony. This idiom is rooted in classical Chinese literature and emphasizes the importance of diplomacy, compromise, and the value of preserving relationships over engaging in destructive confrontations.
See its philosophical ties and today's relevance in the article at www.qi-journal.com/3322

The proverb "听其言而观其行" (pinyin: Tīng qí yán ér guān qí xíng) translates to "Listen to Their Words and Observe Their Actions." It emphasizes the importance of not just listening to what someone says, but also paying attention to how they act. The underlying message is that actions speak louder than words, and true intentions are revealed through behavior, not just rhetoric. See more about this proverb on our website at:

Pushing Hands: The Application of T'ai Chi Ch'uan at chiflow.com:
Richard Feynman believed in the value of questioning over having unquestionable answers. He argued that the pursuit of knowledge should be driven by curiosity and skepticism rather than settling for absolute truths. Feynman emphasized that questions which challenge our understanding and push the boundaries of our knowledge are more valuable than rigid answers that shut down further inquiry. This approach encourages a dynamic, open-minded pursuit of knowledge, where the process of questioning itself leads to deeper insights and continuous learning. By valuing questions that provoke thought, we foster intellectual growth and scientific advancement.
Yang Chengfu and Wu Chian Chuan in Brush Knee. Both Ma Yueh Liang and Zhou Zhan Fang loved to bring out images and discuss the similarities of the angle from the back foot through the top of the head and how the qihai (CV6) pointed obliquely at the earth. These two points are significant because basically they help extend the reach of the forward hand and lower the center of gravity for power and stability. The Brush Knee Posture has a multitude of other connections to enhance the connection of yin and yang, including heaven and earth, left and right, front and back, inside and outside, to name a few. Martially, it is essentially a descending parry (of a kick, punch, or grab at any level--high, medium, low) combined with a push or strike, most optimally delivered continuously, alternating or combining left and right, and on angles.
