What an amazing Hollywood moment last night!

My new buddy Sam is producing a Docuseries called Cows in the Pasture

It’s based off The Beach Boys manager Fred Vail & his collaboration w/ Brian Wilson on a Country Record w/members of The Wrecking Crew tracked in 1970 that was recently found & now documenting the completion of the project with an All-Star Lineup of Vocalists 54 Years Later!

The production was done at Wally Heiders Studio 3 in the building where Saint Felix Hollywood currently resides in. So many legendary recordings were done here from 1967-1985. From Crosby Still Nash Young to Tom Petty & Waits to Earth Wind & Fire amongst just a few. it’s amazing to hear the monumental stories resurface here in the Vinyl District

Fred was amazing sharing so many nuggets about his experience here & in the Cahuenga Corridor neighborhood where his offices were for the group in the 60’s. I’m a BIG fan of The Beach Boys so hearing about the Pet Sounds sessions and his Dennis Wilson Car stories were rad

It was a special moment when Fred & legendary Steel Guitar Player JayDee Maness reunited for the first time in decades

JayDee was an integral part of the California Country movement. It was awesome to talk to him about his experiences. I loved his solo on Eric Clapton’s Tears in Heavan

Such a cool project. I was honored they asked me to participate in the shoot & to share words about the current environment & acknowledging the history of the space

Can’t wait for this one to be completed in 2025
