Our students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a two-day dance intensive at the Ailey School in New York. Chair Diamond-Walker, an Ailey/Fordham Alumni, accompanied them on their trip and took the time to show the group her former stomping grounds in the big city. Today, we gather as a community to remember and celebrate the remarkable life of Wendy, a legendary ballet teacher who touched the lives of countless individuals. As we mark her birthday, we pay tribute to the immense impact she had on the world of dance and the enduring legacy she leaves behind.

Wendy was more than just a ballet teacher; she was a guiding light, a mentor, and a source of inspiration to generations of dancers. Her passion, energy, and unparalleled skill in the art of ballet were evident in every step she took and every lesson she imparted. From her early days at LACHSA to her journey through life, Wendy's unwavering dedication to her craft left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of learning from her.

Though Wendy may no longer physically be with us, her spirit lives on through the dancers she taught.
Let us forever hold her in our hearts, cherishing the legacy she has left behind. On this special day, we honor Wendy, our beloved ballet teacher, mentor, and friend, and we celebrate the remarkable life she lived. Los Angeles County High School for the Arts has a permanent dance Chair, at last. Please welcome Natasha Diamond-Walker, as our new Senior Program Specialist, Dance Department Chair of LACHSA! Natasha is a LACHSA alumni who studied under Ka-Ron Brown-Lehman, as well as, with master teachers Don Martin and Karen McDonald. Having spent twelve years as a principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company in NYC, Ms. Diamond-Walker joins us as an impactful artist-educator, published author, and a steward of the Lester Horton legacy in conjunction with the Library of Congress in DC. She is a coveted teaching artist and regisseur for the works and technique of Don Martin, Lester Horton, and Martha Graham. 🎉❤️Welcome Chair Natasha Diamond-Walker! artist

🎉 Just wrapped up our first two weeks of dancing back to school! 💃 We're feeling a bit sore in every little part of our bodies, but that won't dampen our spirits! We're super happy and excited for what this year has in store! 🤩

🌟 Our first week was absolutely incredible with master classes from the one and only and Morrison from , who came to teach a section of Snap choreography by 🙌 They brought their A-game and inspired us to reach new heights in our dance journey. 🌟

💫 And in our second week, we had a fantastic senior photo shoot with the fabulous 📸 She captured our best moments on camera, freezing these memories forever. 💖

📚 As we embark on this new school year, we want to wish our amazing community a successful year filled with joy and growth. 🎉
