Yesterday's homeless encampment fire injured 11 LAFD firefighters, including one with serious burns and injuries to the head area. Thankfully, all are expected to recover. Every day we respond to these encampment fires and every day we are putting our firefighters and the general public at risk.

It's a sad day in the City of Los Angeles and for the entire fire service as a young Los Angeles Fire Department Recruit Firefighter passed away while providing aid at a traffic collision on the 101 freeway. UFLAC will be here to support the family in every way possible as we mourn this tragic loss.
Emotional video from earlier today as the final Los Angeles Fire Department Firefighter who was seriously injured in the Wilmington explosion on February 15th was released from the hospital. Firefighter Dan Goen is now recovering at home with his family. He is the last of the nine firefighters injured in this explosion to be released from the hospital. May God continue to watch out for Firefighter Goen, his family, and all of the LAFD Firefighters injured that day. #UFLAC #IAFF

Major Emergency Structure Fire today in Boyle Heights. More than 180 total firefighters responded and four transported to the hospital with injuries. #LAFD firefighters working double time in the most understaffed big city fire department in the country - protecting our city and our residents on one of the hottest days of the year.
UFLAC President Freddy Escobar appears on NBC4 News Conference with Conan Nolan to discuss the city’s vaccine mandate. In what is already the most understaffed big city fire department in the country, the LAFD cannot afford to lose any firefighters to suspension or termination because of this mandate.
