Mid-year 911 appreciation post!

Produced from 1974-77, the two biggest changes included increased engine displacement which was raised from 2.4L to 2.7L to combat the power loss due to stricter US emissions, and large collapsible bumpers integrated into the body for better crash protection.
CIS injection replaced the mechanical injection on the previous models and two engine options were available -the 150 horsepower 911 and 175 horsepower 911S. The Carrera was later added to the lineup featuring flared rear fenders, wider wheels, and ducktail spoiler.

Once upon a time in 2006 an interesting car made an appearance on our forums named "Frankenstein."
Disguised as a 1974 RSR clone, this Porsche is hiding a bit of a secret. Under the boot sits a Chevrolet 302 V8 pushing close to 400hp! Mated to a 915 transmission and featuring 944 Turbo brakes, Forgeline wheels, and a Momo steering wheel, this build is still amazing almost 18 years later!

Two years ago this 1987 911 was picked up in Nebraska as a roller without an engine and towed back to Los Angles. It's new owner quickly got to work repairing an abundance of rust and making plans to build a dream car. It's taken lots of love and elbow grease but as you can see, the results are STUNNING. What an incredible transformation!

This 1968 Porsche 912 project started on our forums wayyy back in 2008 as a shell without an engine. Over the next several years it received the TLC it deserved from it's new owner by getting completely restored inside and out as well as a horsepower upgrade with a 2.2L heart from a 911!

"I picked up this abandoned child... I knew of the car for years but was not interested at the time. The car was left at the hallway of a body shop where they dump old replacement parts, abandoned for about 15 years I was told.

They started a restoration, and the owner just left it there. It took me 3 days of digging through broken parts they dumped all over from the body shop to get this little gem out.."
