🥵 It’s a very hot weekend but we have several light and refreshing sorbets that will help you cool down!

🥭 Mango: rich, sweet, creamy flavor and with almost no fibrous texture because we use Ataulfo variety.

🍍 Piña Colada: we didn’t have the right menu so we used the one made for pineapple. We wanted everybody to be able to enjoy this sorbet so we decided to leave out the rum and just use pineapple and coconut.

🍋 Lemon: we squeeze the lemons at the store so this flavor is just pure fresh lemon juice in a frozen form!

🍉 Watermelon: made using a full watermelon, everybody is always surprised by how it tastes like an actual watermelon.

🍧 And we just finished making some Lime and Peach granitas!

🌱 All these flavors, including the granitas, are dairy-free, vegan, and gluten-free.

🕐 And keep in mind that on Monday we’re going to be exceptionally open 1-8 PM.

🤤 Choco-Caramel Waffle Cone flavor is back!

🌮 Inspired by an ice cream snack resembling a taco, popular in the ’90s, called Choco Taco in North America and Winner Taco in Europe.

🥜 It consists in a milky and creamy base with caramel swirls, chocolate sauce, crunchy homemade gluten-free waffle cone pieces, and sprinkled with chocolate covered peanuts, and the result is a sweet, crunchy, harmonious combination.

🐶 Many of you already know Chimichurri, our corgi, because from time to time she’s at the gelato shop with us, and it’s always fun for us when people stop by and ask whether she’s here or not, sometimes we wonder if some customers are more interested in the gelato or in Chimi…

🐕 And because Chimi is so loved, and today is Throwback Thursday, we thought about sharing the latest news because since last Thursday, so exactly one week ago, Chimi has a little brother!

🇰🇷 He’s a rescue from South Korea, just like Chimi, and we named him Choripán.

🌭 For those who don’t know, choripán is an Argentinian sandwich made with grilled chorizo and sauces on the bread. What type of sauces you may wonder? Most likely chimichurri.

🌆 Chori is still adapting to his new Californian lifestyle and if we bring Chimi he’s going to be here as well, he’s very sweet and loves to play so maybe next time you stop by you’ll meet him!

☀️ It’s been a little while since the last time we made kiwi, maybe because it’s not one of the first flavors that come to mind when you think about sorbets but it’s very summery, perfect to fight the heat!

🥝 This sorbet has a juicy and soft texture and a unique flavor that we could describe as sweet, refreshing, with a pleasant tartness.

🌱 To make this sorbet we use a lot of fresh kiwis, we remove the skin but we leave the little black seeds since they are soft and donate a little of extra texture to the flavor.

😋 A couple of weeks ago we made a new flavor called Ricotta Cookie Lemon and, as we always do with new flavors, we made only 10-12 lbs to see what kind of feedback we’d get from customers: it sold out pretty quickly.

🥳 We know many of you wanted to try the flavor so this weekend is back!

👩🏻‍🍳 This gelato consists in a creamy ricotta base infused with real lemon, with just the right amount of tangy freshness from the lemon zest.

🍪 We also have the Lemon Ricotta Cookies (gluten-free of course) available at the store and for delivery online if you want to grab a bite.

⚠️ New flavor alert!

🍋 It’s called Lemon Ricotta Cookie and it consists in a creamy ricotta gelato infused with real lemon, with just the right amount of tangy freshness from the lemon zest.

👩🏻‍🍳 But that’s not all because all throughout it’s studded with fluffy lemon ricotta cookies that add a nice crunch and extra creaminess, perfect for those who love a refreshing fruity taste and satisfying creamy scoop!

👩🏻‍🍳 Gluten-free alfajores in the making!

🇦🇷 Alfajor is a traditional Argentinian confection, and it consists in a cookie sandwich with dulce de leche in the middle, completely covered with dark chocolate.

🥛 We make our own alfajores in house and we mix them in a dulce de leche gelato base. More Argentinian than that is impossible!

🍪 But that’s not all because besides the gelato flavor we also have available the actual alfajor cookies in store! And yes, they’re gluten-free!

⚠️ This weekend we have 4 very special flavors, one picture for each gelato. Let’s check them out!

🧀 Parmigiano Reggiano & Pear. It’s a very special flavor, we know, it’s not for everyone, and of course it’s a savory gelato. The saltiness of the Parmigiano and the sweetness of the pear sauce make a great combination.

🤍 White Chocolate with Passion Fruit. Also in this case we played with contrasting combination of flavors thanks to the white chocolate’s sweetness and richness and the passion fruit’s acidity. The seeds give a nice extra texture.

🍑 Peach sorbet. It’s the very first peach of the season, we know that many of you have been waiting for this flavor and it’s finally available. It’s super creamy as usual!

🍪 Chocolate Chip Cookie. An alternative to the classic cookies ’n cream, we make using the very same gluten-free cookies we sell at the store.

✈️ Thinking about traveling far away places? We got the ticket to some delicious scoops!

🇪🇸 First stop is Spain, with Crema Catalana gelato, the base is a creamy-custard with hints of lemon and orange zest, and ribbons of burnt sugar caramel, similar to crème brûlée.

🇮🇳 Next on the itinerary: India, for a plant based option we made Chai Latte flavor using oat milk and our very own homemade mix of warm spices and black tea leaves.

🍕 Few hours ago we attended a nice event at a kindergarten: these lucky kids had lunch with freshly baked Neapolitan pizza and then our gelato!

💨 Since there was a strict time window I think we probably served the 100 kids in little over than 15 minutes, for sure it’s been the most intense service we ever did.

🍓 We brought four different flavors but the clear winner has been the strawberry sorbet!

👩🏻‍🍳 Churro flavor is back!

🇪🇸 A churro consists of deep-fried yeast dough encrusted with sugar. The dough is a mixture of flour, water, and salt.

🤤 For this flavor we make a vanilla and cinnamon gelato base, we add a lot of homemade churro pieces, and then we pour on top melted dark chocolate.

🚫 Ah, the churros are gluten-free!

🍈 We just made the first melon sorbet of the year!

🇨🇳 It’s a sweet melon variety from Xinjiang, China, especially from Hami, hence the name.

👩🏻‍🍳 It has a juicy orange flesh and its flavor profile is reminiscent to a very sweet cantaloupe, with more flavor and firmer crunchy texture. These melons are sweet and refreshing, perfect to make a nice sorbet!

🐶 We had to take several shots because, as you can see in the second picture, Chimichurri wasn’t impressed with the melons arrangement, she’s pretty judgy.

📸 Just wanted to show you a behind the scenes of the new flavor we just made for this weekend, Chocotorta! In the second picture you can see the final result.

🇦🇷 Translated as chocolate cake, Chocotorta is a no-bake Argentinian dessert that was modeled on the famous Italian tiramisu but made using Argentinian staple ingredients: it consists of layers of chocolate biscuits, dulce de leche, and cream cheese.

👩🏻‍🍳 To traslate this cake into gelato we start making a dulce de leche and cream cheese mixture which is going to be the base, once the gelato is ready we add crumbles of homemade gluten-free chocolate biscuits dipped in milk and coffee, and top the flavor with dark chocolate shavings.

🇮🇹 to a couple of weeks ago when we went back to Italy to visit our family!

🥔 That’s been the second time we saw our nephew, we met him as a newborn when he was just a little baby potato, and now you can see him running around and calling the shots in the kitchen, his favorite place: just give him a pan and he’ll forget about all the other toys!

👶🏼 Our nephew’s passion for food and creativity was on full display as he has his very own “ecco un poco” branch in my mom’s house.

🇮🇷 Nowruz is the Iranian or Persian New Year, and it’s a festival based on the spring equinox, which was a few days ago, on March 19.

👩🏻‍🍳 Once a year, just for this celebration, we make Rosewater & Saffron gelato. This flavor is also known as bastani sonnati, a Persian ice cream made from milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and pistachios, and flavored with rosewater and saffron.

💛 The vibrant yellow color and exotic flavors make bastani one of the favorite Persian sweets.

🌹 We make our gelato using all the original ingredients, including chunks of frozen cream that speck the gelato, and edible rose petals.

👩🏻‍🍳 If you like this Sicilian sweet treat then you’re going to love this flavor since it’s made using all the ingredients of a real Sicilian cannoli!

🐑 The gelato base is made using a mix of milk and sheep ricotta cheese, then we add crushed pistachios, candied oranges, chocolate shavings, and of course pieces of our homemade gluten-free cannoli shell!

🇦🇷 And for all those who love the super creamy flavors, we also made Dulce de Leche!

☀️ It’s a sunny weekend, perfect gelato weather, especially fruity flavors!

💖 On the right top corner we have Guava, it’s a sorbet but yet it has a very creamy texture.

🤍 On the left there is Coconut, made using coconut meat and coconut milk, the best adjective to describe it probably is “coconut”.

💛 And at the bottom we have White Chocolate & Passion Fruit, a flavor that perfectly combines the richness of the white chocolate with the the acidic taste and tropical flavor of the passion fruit.

🇮🇹 Last week, for the very first time, we started making mini panettoni for Christmas weekend, and they sold out for 3 days in a row: to be honest, we didn’t expect it!

🍪 As a weekend special we decided to make Chocolate Chip Cookie. It consist in a creamy base made with demerara sugar, that has flavors of molasses and toffee, with hints of subtle caramel, and we’re adding crumbs of homemade gluten-free chocolate chip cookies!

👩🏻‍🍳 This flavor is made using the same chocolate chip cookies that we actually sell in store.

🛫 Everybody needs a vacation and we’re no exception to the rule. After a very busy summer making gelato for you guys we’ll be taking a break to charge up energy and come back ready for more!

♥️ Thank you for all your support during this amazing year, and thank you specially to the people grabbing pints this past weekend, making sure we didn’t have any leftovers!

🗓️ The store will be reopening on December 5th.

😨 We’re getting ready for Halloween and we have two perfect flavors available!

👻 Dark Vanilla, it tastes the same as regular vanilla but it’s scarier!

🎃 Pumpkin Spice, made using a real pumpkin that we roast in the oven, then we add several spices to give it a unique flavor.

🕐 We are going to be exceptionally open on Monday, Oct 30, from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM.

🚫 In a little more than a week we are going to take some time off, the store will be closed from Nov 6 until Dec 4.
