This week’s reading … another book that has been on my list forever.
I am almost finished and simply LOVE it. It is the perfect read for this time of year as we start thinking of habits to shed and new habits to adopt in the coming year.
I’ve been thinking a lot about this for my own goal setting for 2024 as well as for the business planning workshop I’m leading on January 10th where we’ll formally set goals for 2024 as well as the daily, weekly, and monthly practices that we’ll adopt to achieve them. I freaking LOVE this stuff.
This week’s reading! This one has been on my list for a while now and already 50 pages in and loving it. Who here has read it? What were your biggest takeaways?
Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I was at a conference during my birthday so haven't fully celebrated the day yet. It was a great conference and I was lucky have a few of the people at the conference that knew it was my birthday to celebrate with. I also got a picture with a Kennedy so that was cool.
Sending you all love and appreciate your kindness and care. Thank you!
This weekend’s reading…
I’ve been super excited to dig into this since it first came out and does not disappoint with this book.
One of the things I’ve changed my mind on over the last few years is the volume of protein we need in our diets - especially as we get older. I’ve always known protein is important, but significantly increasing my daily intake has been a total game changer for me in many ways and I continue to see the benefits play out with clients.
If you want a deep dive into why protein, strength training and muscle is where we should be focusing our attention, this book is a must-read.
Happy thanksgiving to all today!
Feeling immense amounts of gratitude today for so many blessings, not least of which is my health, my family, my friends and the amazing work I get to do in this world.
Morning run done and ready to enjoy a delicious meal with new friends in our new hometown.
Will do more complete photo/video dump soon but wanted to share about today’s epic experience at the
WHAT a race. I have had NYC on my bucket list for YEARS and this year an amazing person helped make that wish come true (you know who you are).
It did not disappoint. What an experience. The fans; the music; the bridges; the iconic moments…the city vibe was incredible. Y’all SHOWED UP for the runners and it made my hear sing!
Our first 13 miles were amazing. My biggest problem was my cheeks were hurting from grinning so hard. We we’re having SO MUCH FUN.
But just after the halfway point I took a major tumble and thrashed my knees and whole right side pretty hard. OUCH! From that point on, every step hurt like hell and I had to play some crazy mental games with myself to keep going.
Our pace fell off and I had to walk a bunch but there was no way in hell I was dropping out. We persevered - the incredible .coleman27 kept me going - and I’m so proud to have finished the race under the circumstances.
Even with the pain and struggle (but what is a marathon without that??) I was blown away and given the chance would jump at the opportunity to run this race again.
Big shout outs to:
and Annika for being such great cheerleaders and support
for your coaching and invaluable guidance through this build
for everything
And as a total bonus so fun to see and
📷s:
1) Start line
2) Finish line
3) my poor knees!!!
Let’s do this!!
It’s happening!!!!
Countdown is officially on. Look out NYC. Here we come! .coleman27 ❤️💪🏽🏃🏻♀️
Cannot wait!!
Digging into the latest by and my goodness y’all… this should be required reading for all of us to navigate this crazy cancel culture we’re living in.
Highly - HIGHLY - recommend grabbing yourself a copy. Sam’s insights and guidance are powerful, immediately applicable, and highly relevant.
Thank you for creating such an incredible resource for us, Sam! ❤️🙏🏼

Saturday night vibes and I am in heaven over here.
I haven’t shared much about this publicly yet but we’re moving cross country from Portland, OR to Boston, MA and wowsers does it take a lot of mental, physical and emotional energy to move two kids, a dog, a cat, three businesses and our entire household from one coast to the other!
and I are living on the road this month as we make the trek across the country with dog, cat and our very mobile offices (kids are at camp). It’s been both exhilarating and exhausting.
Tonight is the first time I’ve had a proper bath in over two weeks - and anyone who knows me well knows this is my happy zone. Especially for recovery on long run days (oh did I mention I also started a marathon build this month? 😳)
Rolling into our AirBnb tonight and seeing this luxury tub I almost cried. Ahhhhh… how beautiful to feel my nervous system settle another notch.
Whatever your summer has you up to, I hope it’s going beautifully and that you have moments like this to settle and ground yourself!
Feeling blessed I had the opportunity to share the stage with some of the best in the business today to teach some of the team building strategies that have helped me keep and nurture the rockstar team at
Thank you .virgin for the opportunity and encouragement. And shout out to for dramatically upping my style game in the final hours 🙏🏼

It has been my absolute honor and privilege to spend the last five days working closely with Lisa Nichols () and her incredible team of coaches. 💜
If you’re not already familiar with her work, RUN don’t walk to follow her and soak in some of her magic. She will leave you so much better than she found you. I promise.
Thank you .virgin for your wisdom, your commitment to challenging me to step further into my greatness, and for taking a stand for me when I was ready to run. So glad I trusted you 🙏🏼❤️
So excited to dig into this new book by on everything you need to know about your mighty dress-handling glands: the adrenals (and they do so much more than help you handle stress)
Adrenal health is foundational and if you’re not aware of it, can be the thing that pulls you off track even when it feels like everything else is dialed in. As a recovering stress-aholic, I know this story all too well!
I highly recommend it. If you’ve ever read any of ‘s other books on thyroid health you’ll know she’s a wealth of practical, actionable strategies. Grab a copy and let me know what you think!

Sugar is, in my mind, one of the most evil substances in our diet. For one, it’s ubiquitous. Every time I do a full-blown sugar cleanse it shocks me (even me, and I know lots about this stuff) how sugar is in EVERYTHING. From your sauces, salad dressings, your bacon (yes, almost all deli meats, including bacon, have some form of sugar), your morning yogurt, and cereal, all of them contain sugar. The only place that’s safe (unsurprisingly) is whole, real, fresh food.
Do you need a little help and want to kick your sugar habit to the curb? Our 21-day Real Food Reboot program is specifically designed to help you balance your blood sugar levels naturally through diet alone. Check it out - links to this latest article and the Real Food Reboot program can be found in my .
I’ve been quiet on here the last few weeks - taking some time to examine priorities and how I spend my days.
Isn’t it the curious thing about social media that it pulls us out of our immediate experience of our lives in order to share that very experience with others?
I haven’t figured out the balance (if you have - please share!! I want to know how!) and am observing the ebb and flow of it all.
Leaving hubby in a lovely little cabin in Maine where we’ve taken up residence for a couple of weeks while the kids are at camp. I’m off to Utah for a retreat with some badass change-makers and health gurus. Time for some great learning and connecting and growing and celebrating!

I just got through a bout of C**id a couple of weeks ago and was grateful I had been supporting my immune system so proactively these last years (long before the pandemic). There are many factors at play in determining how your body will respond to any kind of pathogen, but regularly keeping your immune system in top shape is key.
These are five simple things you can do right now to remove the burden on your immune system so that, should you be exposed to any kind of immune assault, it has the capacity to handle this new situation.
For a full breakout of each and the how-to’s see my .
