We’re thrilled to introduce our 2024-2025 Lambda Scholar, Cesar Serrano (he/they)! Cesar is a rising sophomore at USC, pursuing a double major in Public Relations & Advertising and Theater. We’re so proud to support their journey and can’t wait to see what they achieve!

As part of USC’s Day of SCupport and in honor of Pride Month, the USC Lambda LGBTQ+ Alumni Association has launched an impactful crowdfunding campaign to foster change and empower the next generation of LGBTQIA+ leaders. The USC Lambda LGBTQ+ Alumni Association hosted its 31st Annual Scholarship Benefit at the Garden Terrace in Maybourne Beverly Hills. With over 200 guests adorned in the suggested Spring Flair theme, the sold-out event honored the accomplishments of LGBTQ+ Trojans, recognizing USC trustee David C. Bohnett with the Trailblazer Award, USC LGBTQ+ Center for the Community Ally, and Lambda scholar Carla Ibarra for their remarkable contributions to the q***r community.

Nearly $20,000 was raised during the event, bolstering the scholarship fund for the next generation of LGBTQ+ Trojans. USC President Dr. Carol Folt, who presented the Trailblazer award, commended USC Lambda's 31 years of success connecting alumni with students for networking and mentorship opportunities and for awarding over $500,000 in scholarships to 150 scholars, all of whom have demonstrated academic excellence and a strong commitment to the LGBTQ+ community.

Today, we proudly stand in solidarity with our transgender peers, celebrating their resilience, courage, and authenticity. Celebrating the incredible journey of our Lambda Alumni, we are proud to spotlight Kimberly Milliken-Hayden (she/hers) this month. Kimberly graduated with an MS from USC Rossier School of Education in '96, and is the Senior Director of Development Operations at NAF.

Kim is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the USC Lambda LGBT Association Board to support increased visibility and connection for LGBTQ+ students and alumni. Through her work professionally and personally advocating on behalf and with marginalized communities, she is committed to creating supportive spaces and helping USC Lambda grow in impact and service.
