INFO SESSION: USC College Advising Corps - like Teach for America but for school counselor/college counseling at a high school!

For first generation and low-income college students, college counselors play a critical role helping them navigate the application process, apply for financial aid and make informed decisions on college options. However, in California, the student-to-college counselor ratio is 620 students to 1 counselor leaving many students with as little as 20 minutes a year with a college counselor.

Join us to learn how the USC College Advising Corps is working to expand college advising services and improve college access across the greater Los Angeles area. Hear from the advisers and students who have been impacted by this innovative program.

USC Progressive Degree: MA in Medical Gerontology

We are currently accepting progressive degree applications for Fall 2021 and beyond! Graduating seniors are eligible to apply. These programs offer 1 additional year of coursework (31-33 units) to earn the master’s degree!

Course topics include:
• Signs of normal aging and diseases of aging
• Complexities related to multiple chronic diseases
• Risks of polypharmacy (use of multiple medications)
• Technology’s role in the delivery of healthcare
• The principles of safety, comfort and convenience within built environments

We also offer a Master of Science in Gerontology, a Master of Arts in Senior Living Hospitality, and a Master of Arts in Aging Services Management.
