This unique music and art showcase is designed to unravel the narrative of how the unique fusion of digital production, hyper-connectivity and cultural resistance has made Mexico City one of the most vibrant and innovative cultural capitals of the 21st century. Reina de Cumbia is a moveable feast consisting of an art exhibit, a panel discussion, a music production workshop, keynote speakers and live shows to celebrate the rich history of cumbia music.

Del 8 al 11 de agosto, el Centro Nacional de las Artes Delia Zapata Olivella será el escenario del Segundo Encuentro de Pueblos Originarios Abya Yala. Representantes de más de 15 pueblos, incluyendo Ecuador, Perú y Bolivia, se reunirán para una programación artística diversa, una feria y actividades académicas abiertas al público.

Como invitada internacional, estará Luzmila Carpio, la voz de los Andes, cantante y compositora quechua-boliviana quien relatará en sus canciones su compromiso con la defensa de las culturas indígenas, la veneración profunda de la Madre Tierra, y su arduo trabajo de descolonización cultural.

Meet El G (), co-founder of ZZK Records, who has performed in over 100 cities worldwide, including Coachella, Roskilde, and Berlin’s Berghain. Known for his deep connection to Latin American music and culture, El G brings an eclectic mix of beats that are sure to get you dancing.

Joining him is (Matthew Himes), a seasoned pro with 15 years in SoCal’s vibrant music and arts scene. From working with Grammy winners to directing major festivals, Matthew’s diverse expertise spans jazz, rock, hip-hop, funk, and more. As a talent buyer, tour manager, and audio engineer, he’s left an indelible mark on the industry.
