Brighten up your day with goat cheese dressed in vibrant edible flowers with a hint of spice taking your summer charcuterie boards to the next level!
Did I mention I used edible flowers from my own garden?!?! I even surprised myself!
All joking aside I recently lost my father and it’s been hard to come to terms with, but it reminds me life is precious and short. No matter what is happening we must pick ourselves up and create joy in our daily lives 🙌🏻
Thank you for the gardening tips & sage/orange/Chile infused salt that pairs well with the goat cheese and for the Hawaiian chili honey that adds the perfect amount of heat & spice 🙌🏻
Cheers 🥂

My savory adventures was born in 2010 and has been an evolving endeavor from blogging my food adventures around the world, to sharing recipes, and now honing in on what has always been near and dear to my heart….cheese, meat, wine and bringing people together.
What better way to do that than creating a vibrant Indian fusion charcuterie board that blends my husbands and my culture together—Spiced nuts using my very own masala, herb infused paneer (Indian cheese), dried/fresh fruits, in house made pickled vegetables, strategically traditional cheeses paired with homemade chutneys, traditional cured meats, Indian “Crostini’s”, & honey featured from (the lavender & spicy flavors are the perfect compliment)!
Join me at my very first Pop-Up event on February 12th inspired by Valentines Day! There will be savory options for 1 or 2 people followed by a dessert board to complete your experience!
DM me for orders until we sell out (pick-up only mid-city Los Angeles).
I enjoy all the Christmas cookies and desserts but first pass the cheese & charcuterie! Don’t forget the wine🍷
Bringing in a cheese board for the Holidays and as a way to re-introduce myself!
If you zoom in or swipe to see a close-up you’ll notice this is not your traditional meat and cheese board. I added a little spice with an Indian twist!
Why not?!?!?!
A fruit or savory chutney pairs well with a variety of cheeses, samosas are fantastic finger foods, nuts/dried fruits are popular in India, and pickles are similar to pickled onions—right? Not to mention all the fun spicy crunchy Indian snacks!
Fun Fact: My husband is from India hence why I create a lot of Indian fusion dishes. I am from a small town in Michigan with a German background and we now live in Los Angeles.
Throughout the years we have traveled around the world and food is the focal point as James Beard once said “Food is our common ground, an universal experience” I strongly believe food breaks down barriers and helps us to connect.
We enjoy hosting/entertaining—to cook and share with others is one of the best feelings in my books!
👉🏻More Fun Facts:
I ran a marathon once and will never do it again, but have ran many half marathons since.
I tried out for MasterChef and didn’t clear the first round.
I competed in the largest grilled cheese competition in LA and came 2nd amongst thousands.
My day job is working as an occupational therapist in a hospital.
Julia Child is definitely someone I look up to. Her positive attitude and fearlessness in the kitchen is something I always aspire towards!
Bon Apetit everyone and look forward to learning more about you! Tell me something in the comments about you!
I’ve been apprehensive in posting my traveling adventures especially since I work in healthcare.
This was our first big trip since the pandemic. We were fortunate enough to fly to Portugal and Morocco.
Did I feel safe?
We had to show proof of vaccination before flying, we were tested each time before we flew, and Portugal is 86% vaccinated while Morocco is 60%. Not to mention US just re-opened its borders to all other countries.
The world is slowly opening up and after traveling I realized How crucial open borders are!
From interacting and learning from people of different backgrounds to employment especially the poorer countries that rely heavily on tourism to loved ones being able to re-unite.
The Pandemic has United us despite our cultural differences. We are all human that experience the same emotions so hopefully we can all start to rejoice as we start to physically connect again!
Meanwhile be sure to swipe to see some of our photos from our trip!
How to make a Pumpkin shaped cheese ball! Perfect for the fall Holidays/entertaining!

Copy & paste link below for recipe:

Here in LA temperatures are still on the warmer side so I decided to ignite the fall recipes with a stellar fig salad!
Fresh figs with peppery arugula, savory prosciutto with hints of fresh basil complimented with tart goat cheese garnished with candied pumpkin seeds topped with a balsamic/rosemary infused dressing!
How do you sweeten your balsamic dressing?
Here I decided to use date syrup from that deepened the flavor & is 25% less sugar than honey (Not sponsored)!
Balsamic Dressing Recipe
* 1/2 cup olive oil
* 1/4 cup balsamic
* 1 tsp finely chopped dried rosemary
* 1-2 cloves of crushed garlic
* 1 tsp Dijon mustard
* 2 tbsp date syrup (or sweetener of choice)
* Salt/pepper to taste
Simply place all ingredients in mason jar & shake vigorously! Enjoy!
We celebrated this little guy’s birthday who turned 5 (which not so little in dog years)! Spritz may have slowed down and selectively plays with his fellow furry friends when the mood strikes, nonetheless he continues to have a zest for life!
He is still full of personality——loves to cuddle, takes joy in chasing the seagulls at the beach, is a social butterfly at parties, slows down to smell the flowers, finds car rides thrilling, enjoys sun bathing, belly rubs are mandatory on a daily basis, & eating is one of his favorite activities besides chasing a ball :)
Most importantly Spritz sprays joy into our lives and those around him so naturally I had to make a special doggy cake that incidentally is human friendly too—wouldn’t recommend it, but was a big hit amongst the b-day boy and his friends!
What goes into a doggie birthday cake?
Ingredients:
* 2 eggs
* 1/4 cup peanut butter
* 1/4 cup coconut oil
* 1/2 cup maple syrup (honey or unsweetened apple sauce)
* 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
* 2 cups of whole wheat flour
* 2 1/2 tsp baking soda
Preheat oven to 350 F. Line 9-inch cake pan or 2 6-inch. Set aside. Beat the wet ingredients in a medium bowl. Add dry ingredients & mix until just combined.
Bake for 20-25 mins. or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the center. Cool & frost!
Frosting:
1 cup plain greek yogurt
1/2 cup peanut butter
Unsweetened coconut flakes for sprinkling
Mix ingredients together and spread on cake! As easy as that and I’m not a baker!
Recipe adapted from Haley !
Cheers Spritzeeeeee and to all your furry loved ones!

Today may be June 30th marking the end of Pride Month, however, Pride for me is something to be celebrated everyday!
I have many close friends who are part of the LGBTQ community and have had the pleasure of attending weddings, bachelorette parties, and some of my gay friends have even taught me how to walk in high heels (you know who you are Tarik)!
Cheers to one love, equality, and inclusion 🥂🏳️🌈
This is 40…..
but more importantly this is celebrating my life how it was pre-pandemic…..
Traveling….
Hosting friends/family..
Hugging loved ones, smiling, laughing, & crying tears of joy!
Since the vaccine rolled out I was fortunate enough to travel to Tulum, Mexico with close friends for this milestone of a birthday!
June 15th California lifted their restrictions & June 16th was my actual bday. My husband Gary threw me a surprised party with close friends we haven’t seen in over a year!
Our house was filled with laughter, joy, and happiness!
Before pandemic I would have been a bit sad I’m getting older but now post Pandemic especially since I work in healthcare I’ve realized with every year I become older I’m grateful I’m alive & more than ever I’m thankful to be able to hug my friends/family again—-almost afraid to let go ;)
For those who are still struggling with the virus hang onto hope and know there are brighter days ahead!
There are still many unknowns, but for now I’m relishing in these precious moments!
