The Pacific Wilderness regulars at Old Marineland (Ben, Randy and Giles) were treated to an epic display of nature on Sunday morning. Dolphins, sealions, pelicans and other birds were feasting on a massive bait ball right off the beach. Although the dolphins departed when the divers went in, they did see the bait ball and plenty of sealions. Thanks for sharing the video, guys!

Experienced beach divers (rocky entry) are always welcome to join us for dives at Old Marineland (aka Terrenea Resort) most Sundays, conditions permitting. Watch this space....

Tuna crab fever!
Exciting news! We've got tuna crab swarms (Pleuroncodes planipes) over at Vet's Park! Tim McDade just dropped this video showing the little galatheid grumpsters dancing with the target shrimp. Go check them out! And if you have a fishing license and an adventurous palate, keep in mind these are the "langostino" of Sizzler fame. Just remember the limit of 35, and that because galatheids filter-feed on algae, they can accumulate the toxins that cause paralytic shellfish poisoning, particularly in their viscera. Check the current conditions before eating these guys. (Thanks Tim for sharing your video with us!)

Great Dive today at Vets 😎 Congrats to two Openwater class graduates for finishing today and thanks to all the regulars who provided for the pot luck👍 Viz today was about 15 feet, Surf very easy at 1-2 feet and water temp 52 at 90 feet and 64 shallow. PW represented with more than 40 divers at the beach today - Good time!

!!!Happy New Year!!! Just a reminder the shop will be closing today at 3pm; and will be closed all day New Years Day. See you next year. We will return to normal hours on Jan 2nd 2018.
