The Chamber would like to announce the theme of the Christmas parade for 2024: 🎁Toys, 🚂Trains and Candycanes!

Hopefully announcing the theme in July will help the float participants get ideas ready to create their winning float.

This years Christmas parade will be on Saturday December 7th 2024 starting at 6pm. It is a rain or shine event, so don't let a little drizzle keep you from coming out and supporting all the local business and organizations that work tirelessly on their floats.

The Grand Opening of Los Banos Treasures: A Ribbon-Cutting Event
Once upon a sunny Wednesday morning in the charming town of Los Banos, California, anticipation buzzed through the air. The townsfolk had gathered outside a quaint storefront on 6th Street, their eyes fixed on the vibrant red ribbon stretched across the entrance. It was a momentous occasion—the grand opening of Los Banos Treasures, a unique marketplace where local artisans and entrepreneurs could showcase their wares.
The store’s owner, Nicky Nyquist, stood at the forefront, her captivating smile greeted the townsfolk as they entered and participated in the ceremony. With razer edge scissors, she is ready to snip the ribbon and declare the store officially open. Field Representative for State Assemblywoman Esmaralda Soria and Field Representative for U.S Senator John Duarte, stood beside her, with a wide grin on their faces.
“Welcome, everyone!” Ms Nyquist voice carried over the crowd. The event marks the beginning of something truly special. Los Banos Treasures is not just a store—it’s a community hub, a place where creativity and commerce intersect.
The crowd erupted in applause. The vision is simple: to provide a platform for local sellers to display their crafts, art, and unique products. From handmade jewelry to vintage clothing, from artisanal soaps to hand-painted ceramics, you’ll find it all here.”
The ribbon shimmered in the breeze as Nicky Nyquist stepped forward and with a decisive snip, she cut through the ribbon, and the crowd cheered. The doors swung open, revealing a treasure trove of delights. The scent of refreshment and drinks wafted throughout the store.
Inside, the store was a symphony of colors and textures. The walls and shelves were adorned with carefully curated items.
The store buzzed with activity. Customers meandered through the aisles, admiring the craftsmanship and chatting with the sellers. Los Banos Treasures is more than a store, It’s an investment in our community. And here’s the exciting part: the store takes only a 15% commission on sales. The rest goes directly to our talented sellers.”
And there’s still room for more! They have seven spaces left for rent. If you’re an artist, a crafter, or someone with a unique product, come join us. But remember, you must be willing to volunteer at the store for at least four days a week.”
As the day drew to a close, the sun painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. Los Banos Treasures had found its place—a haven for creativity, a hub for community spirit. And as the last customer left, and Ms Nyquist locked the door, I can hear her whispering a promise “We’re just getting started.”
And so, Los Banos Treasures became more than a store—it became a chapter in the town’s story, a place where dreams were woven into quilts, carved into wood, and planted in soil. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was just the beginning, and the townsfolk knew they were part of something truly special.
NOTE: In the back portion of the store is a 700 square foot space that can be rented out for meetings, training or whatever the need is. They are also on Facebook at Los Banos treasures. They can be reach by phone at 925-628-0103. Spaces for rent are 5x7 and 10x7 square feet.
And that, my dear reader, is how Los Banos Treasures began its journey—a story etched in the hearts of those who believed in the magic of community and creativity. 🌟✨
