Kusoma - LMEF is a nonprofit organization created to enable access to quality education for children of impoverished and marginalized communities (particularly in the Kuria District of Kenya). The vision of Kusoma International - Laurenti Mohochi Educational Foundation is that all underserved children - regardless of gender - will, through education, have a positive impact on their community and the world.

Beautiful work in progress..The library has different sections coming up.
The significance of installing internet access in a community library lies in its ability to enhance educational resources, broaden access to information, and foster community development. By providing internet connectivity, a community library can offer
1. Expanded Information Access: Internet access allows users to explore a vast array of online resources, academic journals, e-books, and multimedia content. This expands the scope of information available to library visitors, enabling them to delve into diverse subjects and stay updated on the latest developments.
2. Educational Opportunities: Internet connectivity facilitates online learning and educational programs. We are glad that the community members can access online courses, tutorials, and educational platforms, thereby promoting continuous learning and skill development.
Kusoma International is currently in the process of renovating the community library. Giving the community library a face lift.

Kusoma International embarked on a search for a scholar for this academic year. Unfortunately, due to the limited funds, there is a chance to support only one student, a preliminary search was done in an area that had not benefited from the scholarship program.
After the release of the KCPE (Grade 8 National Examination) results, Kusoma International contacted headteachers of schools in Bukira North location to find out how many of their students scored 300 marks and above. The second step was to identify the needy families. This was done with the help of a local administrator (chief) who played an important role in ascertaining the state of the concerned families.
An invitation was extended to the students to congregate at Naora primary school with their guardians. The students filled the Scholar's selection forms to get more information about them and their aspirations.
The community library we are setting up will provide free access to educational, news, and historical resources, it will help keep the Kuria community informed with facts, rather than confused with misinformation. It will act as a hub of information, providing free and equitable access to vast collections of books, films, music and more. Furthermore, it will offer a mix of historic and contemporary public spaces that support community participation and social engagement for everyone in the community. A safe space where everyone is welcome, and everyone belongs.
