Every person has some preconceived notion about what something should cost. I get the "that's expensive" or the "that's too high" every day. isn't cheap. It just isn't. But there truly expensive things that we DO NOT need that we blindly pay for every day. The thought processes that inform our value construct is very jaded by our desires. We place higher value on the things we want based on how bad we want it. It makes that purchase price seem more like a welcome mat instead of a barrier. The worse we want X the higher we value X and can therefore rationalize the idea of giving up money more easily. Conversely we regard the things that we don't want to have to purchase as expensive. Many wont blink an eye at the iPhone ecosystem price tag (as an example) but bemoan the cost of the auto repairs or replacement of home systems, even these things are more vital to out lives. We buy on emotional influences verses rational decisions oftentimes. We gravitate to the "sexy" or "FOMO" rational to justify our purchases.

Advertising, societal influences (real actual people), social media (fake people you don't actually know) all play a tune to get into our hearts and minds to influence where we spend out time and money. In fact, this is sooooo effective that we seldom have money left over for the NEEDS in our lives. We're bombarded with images of luxury and status symbols, leading us to prioritize the latest gadgets or trendy experiences over essential expenses like healthcare, education, or saving for emergencies. The pressure to keep up with appearances or chase after fleeting moments of gratification often leaves us financially strained and vulnerable. It's a cycle where our wants overshadow our needs, perpetuated by a culture that glorifies consumption and instant gratification. As a result, we find ourselves trapped in a cycle of spending beyond our means, sacrificing long-term stability for short-term thrills. Breaking free from this cycle requires a shift in heart and mindset, a conscious effort to differentiate between genuine necessities and manufactured desires, and a commitment to prioritize our financial well-being over fleeting trends and social validation.

This "repair" was a home warranty service by local Fast Response Heating and Cooling company
What is pictured here is my CO meter reading harmful levels of carbon monoxide. The part shown is a draft inducer that is under sized, a non OEM used part sold as new, installed without gaskets and contains large gaps where Carbon Monoxide is escaping.
