In Memory of Linda Owen Miller who passed away two years ago today. She was a female pioneer in the funeral service industry and became a licensed funeral director in 1986. She lived her life’s passion following in the footsteps of her parents, Edith and Bird S. Owen, Jr., and grandmother Anna Roberts, the founding owners of Owen Funeral Home. She served as past president of Owen Funeral Home and Highlands Funeral Home.
Linda was awarded “Woman of the Year” by Women in Funeral Service in 2000 and received Today’s “Savvy Sister Award” in 2003.
Following the death of three babies during pregnancy, Linda created Our Little Angel Company, providing register books, preemie caskets, and infant burial clothing. She and her brother David enjoyed many good times in the years before her passing. May she rest in Peace with their parents and grandmother.🙏
Stepping Stones 2024 was a fantastic day with over 500 new and old friends. Thanks to everyone who brought donations for Shively Area Ministries, Southwest Community Ministries and South Louisville Area Ministries. These ministries do such a good work in our community. Mark’s Feedstore provided great food and service as always. The music of Allison Speer and Brian Free and Assurance was amazing and we also enjoyed the fun entertainment of David Garrard. We especially appreciate the hospitality of Valley View Church opening their doors to us. A special thanks to Eddie Lee Brooks.
