We are so excited and honored to host special guest teacher Michael Fine in our studio for the next 5 days. Thanks to Elizabeth Spears for the connection to create this opportunity, Morgan Wessel for the organization and hospitality to make it possible, and our regular teachers who are sharing their classes to make this easily accessible for our community and beyond.

💦Michael will begin each class in the Solar Room with about 10-15 minutes telling his story, his struggles, and how yoga has transformed his life before beginning your traditional instructed series of the 26&2. You can click here to see an ESPN inside look into Michael's journey.

💙Michael is substituting into our regularly scheduled classes while he is visiting from Chicago. We are deeply grateful to our teachers who lovingly volunteered their class times so that Michael could have the space to share his voice with our community.

🔥If you are signed up for a 75 minute class: After hearing Michael's introduction/storytelling, he will then immediately begin the instruction of your 26&2 series, making it a condensed version of approximately 60-65 minutes. For a 90 minute class: 10-15 minutes of introduction/storytelling followed by ~75 minutes of instruction.

☑️ Classes are on regular schedule, so all memberships apply as usual or these can be registered for at the $26 regular drop in rate .Book ahead on your app and cancel as necessary! Come to multiple classes if you so desire, this opportunity for hearing a new voice is a unique one!

It is with deep sadness we share this recent loss. Although it seems our time with Wayne was short, he made an impact working desk shifts at our studio, always jumping up to serve and support, or coming to class and practicing, whether a sweaty Hot 26 class or Yin. We honor his presence with us and know the sorrow due to the temporary nature and what we do not control in this world. We give the deepest gratitude for the love and energy we can depend on continuing on through the flow of connections and relationships cultivated in our community 🖤

Meet the first three of our 2023 Hot 26&2 Teacher Training Graduates to jump right into the fire 🔥(aka hot room) and get their feet wet 💦 (plus everything else...because you know it's sweaty in there😉)!!!

✨Heather Vaught was on it for a quick sub need week before last and taught her first instructed 75 minute class Friday PLUS jumped in again for another quick sub need Saturday, and rocked leading a Hot 26 Beats🎶

ℹ️Heather began her yoga journey in February 2021 when a friend invited her to a Hot Yoga Louisville 26 & 2 class. The experience instantly and unexpectedly took root and yoga became a priority in her life. A seed planted quickly sprouted and produced the desire to acquire the ability and have the honor to share this with others leading her to train in the 2023 26 & 2 class with Glenn Brown and Cindy Lunsford. Heather is eager to learn from, evolve with, and contribute to the yoga community where everyone can facilitate transformation together.

✨Steve Santo debuted this morning at 8am for his first Hot 26 Instructed 75 minute teaching and it was fabulous.
ℹ️Steve used to be a runner and got into yoga to help stretch and strengthen other parts of his body. When a friend introduced him to Hot Yoga in 2015, he was hooked. Steve found the mental and physical challenge of learning to relax while you push yourself very similar to running. Hot Yoga also provided the much needed mental and physical release from the rest of life. Steve retired from a long career as an engineer/manager at the end of 2022 and it didn’t take long after for him to begin his teacher training. Steve has six grown kids and four grandkids – so he is used to leading group activities. :-)

Does this feel like *the perfect time* to connect within yourself on a deeper level using the tools of meditation?

This will be an ongoing course to help students learn to effortlessly connect and develop a relationship with their true inner power. It is designed for beginners to advanced meditators. All are welcome. The course will be themed each week to learn or open up a new channel of awareness. Attend each week or as your schedule allows. It will be offered in person and through zoom.

You will learn: how to heal yourself and others; how to raise your vibrational frequency at any time; acceptance; true forgiveness; heart opening; oneness; how to create through imagination and much more.

What to expect/what to bring: Mostly sitting, some laying down. We have some bolsters and blankets which will be available but you may choose to bring own pillow and blanket to sit on. Yoga mat is not required. Wear comfy clothes and socks. Ages 14 and up.

The class is guided by Sloan Showalter (Sloan Healing Arts) a teacher of meditation and spiritual healing for the last 2 decades. Sloan and Hot Yoga Louisville are offering this course out of service to align our wonderful community to their true inner power. All donations will go to benefit a local non-profit. The first $1000 will go to Blessings in a Backpack. (Suggested donation ~$15)

The Short 84 Advanced Yoga class introduces the practitioner to new poses, new flow control, and is designed for all level of students to have fun finding out what their capable of today in a safe environment. "Dave the Downward Dog Man" as he was known to us, was a dear friend, student, yoga teacher, dog trainer and so much more. He changed our world, both inside and outside the studio, for the better...we are filled with sadness that he is no longer with us on this earth.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the loss of another beloved teacher in our community. David Benson passed away on Wednesday July 6th.

The shock and sadness we are feeling as a community right now is very heavy, but we remind ourselves that it is in these times which we can lean on one another. It is because of deep love that we feel such loss.

Dave completed his Vinyasa teacher training with Yogasoul at Hot Yoga Louisville in 2021. His charisma was truly electric. He trained many of our own dogs over the years, winning over our hearts, and as many have stated—he was truly a gifted “people trainer” in that sense, which was further displayed in his teaching of yoga as a physical and spiritual practice. Dave connected on a soul-level with so many of us. He IS a light. His authenticity, kindness, and passion will be deeply missed.

Dave was steadfast, an encouraging friend to his fellow teachers along their own paths, as well as to his students.

Dave worked intimately with the prison systems through canine rehabilitation. This important work will leave a legacy in the lives of humans and canines alike.

We will never forget his deep resounding OMs, his beautiful singing voice, bright smile, and his compassionate time serving this community in so many different ways.

Thank you all for your patience with our community as we continue to grieve these heartbreaking losses.

There is no wrong way to grieve and we will again be opening our space and our hearts to memorialize this beloved teacher. We will be in touch soon with specific memorial classes in his honor as well as hoping to have a Kirtan, music and chanting, to celebrate his resounding and never-ending impact on our world.

Lori was a teacher of the Bikram series for 23 years and an unforgettable presence in our studio and yoga community. She touched countless lives through the practices she led, friends she made, and teachers she inspired.

Lori passed away on Sunday June 26th.

Our experiences of grief, sorrow, and confusion are immeasurable and countless. Just as our connection to one another, memories and stories are also endless. We are thankful for both being true and more during the last week of navigating our studio and community's loss.

The next four Sunday 10am 90 minute Hot 26 classes will be taught and dedicated to her memory. Holding a space for all that come ...with true authentic acceptance for all the possible experiences to be shared, heard and leaving room in that special hot room for the healing opportunities from simply being and practicing in our truth together. Classes are free of charge to register and donations will be accepted towards Make-a-wish and CASA charities in her honor. Please register online or on your HYL app to reserve your spot.

She also completed Ana Forrest's Advanced Yoga training as well as Baptiste's Art of Assisting and Advanced Art of Assisting trainings. Cindy fulfilled her 500 hours with both Jimmy Barkan and Rolf Gates. For five years, Cindy assisted Jimmy Barkan at his level II/III Vinyasa teacher trainings. She practices and studies Bhakti Yoga in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition and owes eternal gratitude to her teacher Raghunath. She currently leads 200 hour yoga alliance certified Vinyasa and Hot 26 teacher trainings. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee where she teaches online and locally, as well as regularly traveling to lead trainings, workshops and retreats.

This uplifting workshop will help you discover how to advance your yoga Asana by focusing on…well…your practice! How do you move through your practice on the mat? What is your intention, focus and goal? How do you move from one pose to the next? How do you assess your progress? What are your strengths, and what are your weaknesses? These are just some of the ideas we will explore in this workshop. Through applying new ways of thinking and moving we will begin to see what has been working and what clearly needs improvement.
