See this simple checklist of safety practices.

1) Know your local areas laws and regulations concerning fireworks.
2) Keep a running hose, bucket of water, or fire extinguisher close by.
3) Don’t hold fireworks in your hand or have any part of your body over them while lighting.
4) Point all fireworks away from homes, structures, or vehicles.
5) Keep away from brush or deadfall timber.
6) Wear protective eyewear.
7) Never light fireworks indoors.
8) Never handle unexploded fireworks. Douse them with water and properly discard them.
9) Never point or throw fireworks at another person.
10) Never mix alcohol and fireworks.
