Congratulations to our (former) 8th grade class at Monarch PK-8! You did it!

Monarch PTO has partnered with Bright School Kits to streamline the process of purchasing school supplies for the upcoming academic year. This service will make it easier and more convenient for you to check off those back-to-school lists without running from store to store, saving you time and frustration.

More detailed information about how to order your school supplies through Bright School Kits will be sent out over the summer. The sale will start in July, so be on the lookout for our emails and social media posts!

We're excited about the convenience and support this partnership will offer our Monarch community.

Elementary field day at Monarch PK-8 is scheduled for Monday, May 20th. The schedule is:

2nd/3rd: 9am-10:30am
4th/5th: 11am-12:30pm
K/1st: 1-2:30pm

We have a wonderful group of parents who are organizing an end of the year celebration/dance for our middle school students. They're still looking for a few more donations and volunteers. Please sign up below if you'd like to donate gift cards or snacks, if you have a large format game they can borrow (connect 4, washers, etc.) or if you'd like to help decorate.

You don't need to be a middle level parent to decorate or loan a game!

We hope our Monarch PK-8 staff felt the love last week during Staff Appreciation Week! Thank you parents for all of the donations and contributions we used to treat our 118 staff members all week.

On Friday each staff member played 'pick a duck' to close out our circus theme. Every bag was filled with a voucher, a gift card, and messages of appreciation.

We owe an ENORMOUS thank you to Rabbit Hole Recreation Services for donating vouchers for the goody bags. Every staff member received a voucher for themselves and a friend to experience one of Rabbit Hole's amazing escape rooms. Thank you Rabbit Hole for your incredible support of this community and of Monarch PK8!!

Our Monarch PK-8 staff enjoyed an amazing nacho bar lunch provided by Old Santa Fe Mexican Grille . Old Santa Fe is always incredibly supportive of local schools and we're so appreciative of their generosity!

Today our Monarch PK-8 staff enjoyed a popcorn bar and a re-stocked fridge. Thank you Beth McManus and crew for the fresh popcorn you provided in your classic popcorn machine!

School Age Care (SAC) will feature a new lottery application process for the 2024-2025 school year, with a sign-up window open between April 15 and May 3 for incoming kindergarteners through 8th grade students. All requests submitted within that window will be considered, with priority given to full-time schedule requests, children of BVSD staff, and siblings at the same school. Art Night is tonight! Come to the school from 5:30-7:30pm. Art from our students in grades PK-8 will be displayed around the school. There will be art activities available for a small donation. Students in grades 4-8 can participate in an Escape Room with Mrs. Shearer (sign up on the auction site for $15, then choose a time slot on the Help at Schools link).
