One last harvest 💫
These yummies were buried under layers of soil, compost, dead leaves, wilted tops, fall debris - - just waiting to be unearthed, enjoyed, brought to their full potential.
The garden is such an amazing teacher :: we have our own treasure, our full potential that lies deep within us; often buried under fears, worries, criticisms, expectations. We are capable of tapping into this source of power, if we allow ourselves the chance, the pause, the breath to do so.
Autumn is quickly coming to a close as we move towards the darkest, slowest time of year 🖤 it feels so good to get some final projects complete to fully sink into the rest of the winter season ☯︎ embracing the structure of Metal before Water takes over and encourages restoration.
Send my love & support out to those who need a little extra this time of year ✨
Happy Veterans Day! 🇺🇸
I live in absolute awe of those who have committed / are still giving so much of themselves & their lives for the sake of our country. Though I don’t agree with war, I do not take for granted all of the benefits I live & breathe daily as an American woman.
I’m hopeful that the way we care for our veterans after they’ve served is improving ~ from the inclusion of complementary medical services in VA plans to exploring different therapies for overcoming PTSD 🍄
Acupuncture has been shown to be effective in treating PSTD, chronic pain, addiction and more both as an alternative & adjunct to conventional therapies. Promising research combines the 2 approaches; proving that utilizing all resources available achieves the best results ⚡️

Pears are a perfect food for Autumn as they support both organs of the season :: Lungs & Large intestine
➺ they dissolve phlegm + nourish yin to combat dryness in the lungs
➺ juicy moisture + fiber assists in keeping bowels moving
🫁💩
As with all fruits, pears are best consumed whole for their fiber content; @ room temperature or cooked if you have sensitive digestion.
➺ my fav is sliced on crusty bread with nut butter & cinnamon on top, with a hot cup of coffee on a crisp fall morning 🤗
☯︎
I ❤️ TCM because it teaches us the deeper meaning of eating seasonally; foods readily available help to appease symptoms that are common at the same time of year.
🍂 It’s been a dry + dusty fall thus far with lots of sticky congestion & dry coughs. Cough drops/syrup are helpful in the go, but you can help to balance out these symptoms long term by having fluid nourishing foods in your diet.
➺ adding some fat+protein like nuts or cheese helps to limit your blood glucose spike from the pear
➺ steaming the fruit &/or adding ginger (fresh or ground) makes it easier to digest
➺ a drizzle of honey further soothes the throat & tonifies spleen qi to reduce further damp/phlegm production
✨

Earth »☾☽» Metal
There are 5 seasons according to TCM, each governed by 1 of 5 elements ↠ this past month was the shift from summer fire burning out » to late summer earth » now contracting further to the metal of autumn
↯
Earth reflects the balance of Yang & Yin times of year ~ within us it governs our spleen & stomach where we turn all that we consume into energy, and provides nourishment to our visions & dreams so that they can manifest in our lives.
ᯓ In CO, our earth season feels extended with warm afternoons, golden foliage🌻🌾, and abundant harvests still coming in~
Metal is yin within yang; the start to when our energy turns inward to reflect & recharge. It governs our lungs & large intestine, organs that work to let go of waste within us.
ᯓ The autumn season reminds us how to let go as we watch the leaves fall and feel the days get shorter 🍂✨before we dip into the darkness of winter.
These seasons are important times to nourish yourself & purge that which is no longer serving you ::
🍠 whole grains, cooked starchy vegetables, legumes tonify spleen qi
🧅 pungent foods i.e onions, garlic, radishes, mustard greens, cruciferous veg 🥦 dispel phlegm & regulate qi supporting lung function
👣 walking in nature, feeling the earth beneath us helps to feel grounded & fully supported
📓 journaling helps to release unwanted worries from our minds & organize our thoughts
😌 acupuncture releases blockages within our bodies causing pain & disease

I’m returning from a long summer hiatus, not exactly rested (is that even possible with a 1 year old?) but reinspired to share & learn here! 🤲🏼
For my new friends on here, I thought I’d reintroduce myself ~ I’m Chloe » acupuncturist, herbalist, cupping extraordinaire, ear seeder, bookkeeper, front desk person, content creator, cleaning & laundry lady, plant caretaker, all-the-hats wearing person ☯️
↠ I’m mama to a silly & cuddly 1 year old girl & groupie wife to a local rockstar 🤘🏼
↠ I love growing my own food & exploring all the different ways to enjoy it 👩🌾🥘
↠ I will play soccer as long as my body can keep up (yay acupuncture for keeping me healthy!) ⚽️
↠ I practice living in harmony with the seasons to help me remain present & appreciate life’s joy at all times (key word 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦 here 😉)
↠ I unabashedly love communicating with emojis 😄🤪
💫
I love supporting my patients through health challenges & helping them discover the interconnectedness of mental, physical, emotional & spiritual health 🌀
It is my goal here to share helpful wisdom from Traditional Chinese Medicine that you can assimilate into your everyday life, beautiful photos & words that give you a reason to pause & reflect, and some realness to bridge the gap of this digital world & help us feel connected 🌈
Thank you for being here, thank you supporting my little business, thank you for the inspiration you provide in my world 🤗
A perfect day in the sweetheart city ~ Thankful for all those who’ve served & sacrificed so that we can enjoy a life of freedom 🇺🇸
Our country is far from perfect & there are many who don’t feel truly free ~ but that does not diminish what so many have given in efforts to achieve it.
As has been stated by many before, peace is not merely the absence of war, of tension, of violence; it is the PRESENCE of something; justice, mercy, compassion, love ❤️
I pray that we as a species realize that we are all one; universal love & respect is the only way we will truly all be free 🌀

Hey there 👋🏼
We’re Impact Chiropractic Loveland], located at 1661 Rocky Mountain Ave in the Centerra Marketplace. We focus of full spine corrective care for teens and adults, but also specialize in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care as well.
People tend to think of chiropractors as bone doctors, who are there to simply get you out of pain. The bones in your back protect your entire nervous system though and control so much more than your pain response. We look to the spine to tell us how your entire body is functioning, not just where you hurt.
If you have questions or are curious about hearing how chiropractic could benefit you or your family, DM Impact Chiropractic Loveland]
I’m excited to announce that I am officially in-network with 𝗧𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 which serves both 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮 & 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗔 health insurance plans 🥳
It will always be a priority of mine to make this medicine more accessible to all, and give what I can back to those who have given so much for our freedom 🌎
Acupuncture & Chinese medicine are natural, effective & side-effect free options for managing chronic conditions such as pain, PTSD, anxiety & depression; all of which plague many of those who have served due to what they’ve endured 🤍
I am always happy to discuss individual health concerns & go over potential treatments plans. Let’s work 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 🙌🏼

Taking this reminder into my day, my weekend, my subconscious .. loving myself as I am. I hope you can too 💞🌱💫
The last few days have been a harsh reminder of life’s brevity and the ugliness that humans are capable of. These sweet fuzzy buds reminded me of life’s cycles/seasons/phases .. we are about to transition from this dark lonely season into one of rebirth, of color, of fresh growth. I for one am quite ready for the hope that spring energy tends to bring 🌱
Now is the time to plant seeds, both literally & figuratively. Sometimes when the happenings of your world make you feel frozen & unable to act, you can still think, imagine, manifest a change for the better 🌀
🔅 I pray that when my daughter grows up she does not have to fear walking home alone at night like so many women do after the recent murders of Michelle Go & Christina Yuna Lee
🔅 I pray there is a swift end to this war in Ukraine, minimal lives are lost, families & communities are able to return home safely, and that as a species we learn that we are all one
🔅 I pray for my family as we mourn the loss of my sweet grandfather, who’s life was long yet taken too quickly. He was such an incredible light of a human, we were the luckiest to have him as long as we did ~
🖤
If you are feeling scared, sad, hopeless, know that you are not alone. Next chance you get, go outside to feel the sun shine on your skin, take a deep breath, and blow out the tension built up within you. Thank your body for holding you up, your mind for persevering, your heart for allowing you to feel ~

🌟 HERB SPOTLIGHT 🌟
Shan Zha
This sweet & sour fruit is a smart little herb with many physiological effects. It’s in the 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 category of Chinese herbs & is especially helpful in the digestion of meat, alcohol & greasy foods :: 🥓🍕🍻
-> it’s found in Bao He Wan/Preserve Harmony pill for symptoms of chest & abdominal fullness/distension, nausea, acid reflux, smelly burps .. AKA You indulged too much!! 🥴
-> in line with it’s effect of helping to process & digest fat, this herb is principle in treating acne with oily skin
Additionally, Hawthorn fruit is beneficial for the cardiovascular system 🫀 Clinical studies have observed this herb to reduce serum cholesterol, treat hypertension in lowering both systolic & diastolic BP, improve symptoms of heart failure i.e. fatigue, dyspnea, & palpitations, & improve exercise tolerance in patients with mild chronic heart failure.
Though no negative interactions have been cited, the vasodilatory effects of hawthorn could interact with medicines used in cardiovascular disease such as beta blockers & calcium channel blockers. **Always seek the guidance of a licensed & trained herbalist when using herbal medicine, and be in communication with your physician 🤲🏼
I find this current research very hopeful for the treatment of CVD, which has remained the number 1 cause of death in the United States for years. I believe the best future of medicine we can hope for is one in which conventional & traditional/alternative approaches work together. 🙏🏼🌀🌿

Optimal health depends on the smooth flow of qi throughout our bodies ~ this ensures proper organ functioning, sufficient blood circulation, clear headedness & a good mood 😌
↠ A sure-fire way to stagnate your qi is to have a day where nothing seems to go right.
↠ ↠ sleep through alarms & wake up in fright, forget your car is frozen over & have to scrape in a hurry, have majority of patients cancel due to weather, run into login difficulties with what seems like every online account 🤬🔥
I could feel my breath become shallow, neck/shoulders/back tense and the tears bubble up » so I let the tears flow as they are connected to our liver energy and therefore assist in moving blocked qi, took a few deep belly breaths to center/ground, rolled out my shoulders & neck.
What felt like a crap start to the day led me to deep cleaning my office & catching up on admin work, going for a long walk with my pup, making a big pot of soup & homemade bread, getting extra snuggles with my girl~
🧼❄️🐾🥘🍞💖
Serenity can be found by learning to flow with the unexpected; by changing how we respond as opposed to trying to control that which we cannot ✨
If you feel your body responding to mental stressors, give yourself a minute to..
↠ close your eyes
↠ notice where you’re holding tension
↠ breathe into that space
↠ move a bit! Wiggle, roll, 💃🏻🕺🏽
↠ thank your body for it’s inherent wisdom, thank yourself for listening
🤲🏼

Seems to be a tall order these days :: the demands of work life, home life, social life, being a human life are never ending and often overlap into each other.
Learning how to be a mom & run a business, my mind is anything but clear most of the time 😶🌫️🤯😵💫 one of the best things that has come out of these weird pandemic/quarantine times is a habit of journaling 📔
It’s not an every day habit; sometimes it’s during a stressful week, sometimes it’s once I’ve gotten to the other side & need to reflect. Either way, filling up a blank page with the { at time chaos } in my mind always makes me feel more relaxed & at ease.
In this season of turning inward, I can’t recommend this practice enough .. no matter if your mind is occupied with negative or positive emotions (it’s always a mix right?) you can find serenity by letting thoughts pour out on a page ~
💭❄️🌀
"I've shared more with you than all of my other health care providers" is something I heard from a patient this week.
As opposed to allopathic medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine looks at all aspects of health as related ~ interconnected puzzle pieces that create a bigger picture, unique to each individual.
🧩
Conversation is not our only means of gathering information. Subtle differences in the pulse & how it responds to acupressure, the look of the tongue, the sound of the voice, temperature of the body, how someone carries themselves & the posture they sit in; all of these details jigsaw into the puzzle as well.
🌀
Acupuncturists often wear detective hats as well in order to find clarity with complex situations. It's not a one-time fix, nothing is. It IS holistic, individualized, healthcare that gets to the root of the issue.
As a patient & practitioner, acupuncture has helped hone my own self-awareness of body & mind, and I see this often in patients as well. As each treatment settles in, symptoms calm, our stress response becomes more controlled, our whole system feels balanced. It's a beautiful thing 🙏
✨
That’s a wrap on my year of seeing patients! 2021 has been an immense year of growth, and I’m not just talking about my belly🤰👩🍼😄
If you have come in for a treatment, shared my name with a loved one or acquaintance, or interacted with me through this community, I thank you. I am humbled & so grateful for the opportunity to do this work.
Going into 2022 with hope for a bright & healthy future & appreciation for the lessons of this last year. May we remember that we’re all walking this journey together 💫

“Fear is useless in these times. Trust, however, is paramount.” ߹ SB
As we approach the winter solstice, the water element comes into influence; reminding us to be introspective, reflecting back to us the deepest, darkest, sometimes scariest but most authentic parts of ourselves.
🌊
On a recent episode of the podcast they discussed the idea To Be Like Water~ since listening I’ve been letting this concept percolate in my brain & work into my day to day ::
🌀 Water takes the shape of whatever container it’s in, effortlessly finding all of the cracks and crevices. It can turn something sharp & pointy into smooth & shiny simply by being around it over time. It is as gentle as it is powerful.
Amidst the buzz of the holiday season & as we’re about to enter the 3rd year of this pandemic, it can be easy to get swept up into the frenzy, the panic, the uncertainty. Fear is the emotion of winter when we’re out of balance~ I am working on countering this by ..
💧 surrendering to the flow of life / acknowledging all that is out of my control
💧 trusting my instinct & that I am right where I’m supposed to be
💧 giving myself grace in the moments that I lose my grip on this insightfulness 😄
Holding space for all of you as we go through the darkest time of year . Remember that we can be the light 💛✨

Coming off this holiday weekend & time spent with family with my heart filled up and reminded of what’s most important ᯈ
᯽ slowing down, taking a breath
᯽ play time & being silly
᯽ making & sharing meals with loved ones
᯽ watching sunsets, maybe a sunrise 😴
᯽ saying I love you
᯽ hugs & snuggling
Feeling so grateful for mine & my family’s health, the ability to travel & be together, this chance to pause.
As we move into this holiday season, I’m trying to keep in mind that this is what it’s all about; why else are we working so hard?
I hope you all had a delicious weekend & found joy in the simple things ✨

When it’s time to tune out the world & check into yourself for a bit.. what’s your preferred way?
Call me biased, but a face down acupuncture treatment always sounds heavenly.
Our backs are the Yang side of our body; treating the back strongly moves Qi+Blood & has far reaching effects on the different organ systems and our psyche. The Back Shu points (pictured here) are each connected to a different vital Yin organ, and it’s spiritual aspect.
⇢ This set of points is classically indicated for chronic disease, yet I’ve found them very helpful in treating the fallout of this challenging year. The inner line regulates our organ function, the outer line treats our mental spirit, our souls both tied to physical life & that which carries on after death, our intellect and willpower.
⇢ ⇢ sometimes a full system reboot is just what’s needed to keep pushing through.

Autumn can be a season of such beauty, especially with a long mild one like we’ve had in the front range.
🌾🍁
𝗦𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆?
. . I’ve heard from a lot of patients that they’ve felt exhausted despite getting more sleep, more blue/down in the dumps than usual.
Amidst the changing colors, warm afternoons & cozy evenings, we are in the season of grief & letting go, of death of the natural world. The leaves had their final moment of brilliance before falling to the ground to decay and turn back into earth.
➺ as with the leaves, the environmental energy is contracting as we move toward the most yin time of year. We pick up on these subtleties as we interact with the world around us ᯈ
🥀💫🪨
How can we find balance? Let it go!
➺ clear your schedule, finish up a project, don’t feel like you have to say yes to every engagement
➺ reorganize your space & purge some items that are no longer serving you
➺ let yourself cry if you need to ~ tears release pent up emotions & help us to detox
➺ come in for acupuncture to support your Lungs & Large Intestine, the seasonal organs of Autumn, which both assist the body in clearing waste 🌬💩

Anyone else dealing with terrible allergies right now?! 🙋♀️
I got hit with a particularly intense attack the other day, while I had a patient on the table, had to cancel the rest of my night 😑🤘🏼
⇢ went searching for a silver lining and found it with the wonder that is acupuncture & herbs! It had been a while since I’d given myself a little treatment…
This formula from Blue Poppy Herbs is one of my favorite patents; it quickly dispels wind ↠ quelling sneezes/itch & stopping eyes from watering, while draining off excess dampness + phlegm & strengthening our exterior Wei/Defensive Qi, making us less prone to future episodes~
⇢ 2nd selfie is 10 mins after taking a dose. Still annoyed but 👁 had calmed down 😆
🌿
These facial acupuncture points all work to clear the eyes, dispel wind, reduce swelling. The hand point, almighty Large Intestine 4 is the Master point of the head & face, for all issues in this area of the body. The 2 feet points (please ignore my toenails in need of paint) are on the Liver & Gallbladder channels, both of which connect to the 👀 & pull excess down from the head.
🌀
I felt much better going home, but my eye was still red & slightly puffy. I used some Chrysanthemum/Ju Hua & Mint/Bo He in a warm herbal compress. These herbs are imperial for clearing wind heat affecting the eyes- think redness, itching, swelling that comes on rapidly!

A safe space for honesty, rest, & healing ᯈ
I see this over & over in practice.. Such a huge part of the healing process is 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱.
➺ It can be very difficult to be truthful about what is going on, how it makes you feel, how it’s affecting your life. But doing so allows space for reality to become more familiar; familiarity brings peace & comfort
The nature of each acupuncture session is based in these 3 pillars. An open, compassionate conversation about what’s troubling you, time for you to rest & tune out the world (let’s face it it’s exhausting) & a healing path that’s designed specifically for you
Feels good to be back to work poking people & helping them feel better!

I call this, the parent shoulder 😆😖
⇢ carrying our ever-growing babe with 1 arm + holding his neck at odd angles while playing with her got my sweet husband feeling preeeetty stiff. Turning his whole body instead of his neck kind of stiff.
A quick cupping session got some fresh blood flow through the affected area, loosened up the stiff muscles & fascia and increased range motion in the neck & shoulder.
⚡️
The dark purple reflects the stagnated blood that was stuck from lots of isotonic muscle holds & not enough stretching.
🩸
Cupping marks can range from bright red to this darker color, depending on the degree of blood stagnation and heat there is to clear out. Though it is commonly used on the back, cupping can be helpful in any area that is experiencing pain & stiffness; forearms, IT bands, calves, etc.
Don’t live with pain! Get yourself in for some sweet relief with fire cupping & acupuncture. It feels better than it looks, I promise 😄
🔥🔥
😅
Looooove love love getting messages like these! ☺️ it’s why I do what I do 🤓
This patient has been coming in for about 6 weeks now for help with her interstitial cystitis, anxiety and joint pain. We’ve seen great improvement using acupuncture, herbs, ear seeds, diet changes & breath work- but adding in fire cupping last week was the missing piece. Because duh.. cupping is the best 🔥
