We know the county is dropping the mask mandate tomorrow. However in order to make sure that we are able to remain open we will still operating as curbside only for the foreseeable future. We are sorry for the inconvenience however each time we have opened back up we have had an outbreak and we can not operate with decreased staff. Many of the companies listed in the picture really push the whole “grain free” trend and thus have become popular brands for consumers. Diet-Associated DCM: Research Update Recently published research studies are shedding light on diet-associated dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs.

Today we say goodbye to one of our own. When Dr. Wiltz purchased the practice back in October of 2002 it was missing a key element and that was a clinic cat. In stepped Merlin a 6 month old kitten needing a home. Merlin quickly became a familiar face at the front desk. His favorite place to sit was on the front counter right next to the monitor to soak up the warmth. Besides Dr.Wiltz Merlin has been a constant presence at Big Thompson up until a year ago when he entered retirement after being bit by a dog. We knew it was time for him to lead an even more relaxed life. He moved home with Dr. Wiltz where he became to pet of his oldest son. Merlin spent his retirement cuddling up and sleeping the night away on Charlie’s head.
Now it’s time for us to say our final goodbye to Merlin. He was and always will be the best cat there ever was. His ashes will be placed in the beautiful flower beds at Big Thompson so that he will forever be with us.

So today is the feast day of St. Francis. If you believe, here is a prayer for all our furry babies!
In Your infinite wisdom, Lord God, when You created the universe you blessed us with all living creatures. We especially thank you for giving us our pets who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life. Their presence very often helps us get through trying times. Kindly bless my pet. May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power. May we realize that as our pets trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us, and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all creatures. Amen.

an appointment. If your pet seems ill, don't wait to schedule your appointment. We currently do not have the capacity for fit-ins, and your pet may need to be seen elsewhere or wait.

• must be proficient and comfortable in surgery
• must be capable of running and monitoring anesthesia
• must be able to place catheters and tracheal tubes, perform blood draws, run laboratory tests, and read microscope slides.

Now that the COVID-19 pandemic is winding down, we are happy to announce we’ll be modifying our curbside procedures and allowing clients in the hospital. However, the virus is still a concern for many and so we’re maintaining some of the safety protocols we practiced during the height of the pandemic:

1. We ask that you continue to check-in by phone when you arrive for your pet’s appointment to avoid congregating in the lobby. One person per pet will be allowed inside.
2. If you are unvaccinated, please wear a mask while inside our building or when interacting with our staff.
3. Nail trims, a**l gland expressions, suture removal, and appointments with a technician will still be handled using curbside protocols, with a team member taking your pet inside while you wait in your vehicle.
4.Medication refills will still be picked up from our prescription box.
