Annie F. Whittemore, 83, of Rockford, IL, went home Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Javon Bea Hospital. Born May 13, 1941, in Stanton, IL, the daughter of William and Maggie (Swain) Reynolds. She married Lonnie Whittemore, Jr., on July 29, 1956, in Hernando, MS. Annie enjoyed being a nanny to numerous small children and being a companion for the elderly. She was a Betty Boop fan, an avid watcher of Westerns, and also loved watching the Young and the Restless. Survivors include her daughters, Laurie Wilson, Kathryn (Robert) Evans, Jammie Whittemore; and son, Michael Whittemore; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Lonnie; son, Lonnie James “Wheet” Whittemore; son-in-law, David Mahnke; and sister, Patricia Gilbertson. Special mention to Debbie (Pete) Collins.

Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. Cremation rites accorded.

Dennis Olsen, 66, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at P A Peterson at the Citadel. Born June 19, 1957, in Rockford, IL, the son of David and Sally (Strickland) Olsen. Survivors include one daughter; one granddaughter; his father, David Olsen; several grandnieces; and former wife, Dawn Fruetel. Predeceased by his mother; a daughter; twin brother, Douglas; and brother, Brian.

Merle Eugene Hammack, 78, of Rockton, IL, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, in his home. Born on June 19, 1945, in Rockford, IL, the son of Lawrence and Pearl (Tackett) Hammack. He married Jeanne L. Harrison. Merle co-owned and operated 3-Hammer Construction. The loss of Merle leaves a huge void in the lives of all who loved and knew him. Survivors include his son, Brent (Tonda) Hammack; grandchildren, Brittany (Kyle) Browning, Jamie (Adam) Cantrell, Cassidy (Jesse) Sodergren, Lauren Sankey, and Cole Sankey; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Irvin (Joanne) Hammack, Glenn (Nancy) Hammack, Beverly (Dale) Rollins, and Terri (Brion) Heuer; sisters- in-law, Lavonne Hammack and Sally (Danny) Shaw; many nieces and nephews; and dear family friends, Deen Cooper, Dave Schusler, Tim Neuschwander, and Mick Steede. Predeceased by his parents; wife; brother, Larry; and sister, Judith Handt.

Sherry Ann Hayes, 60, of Machesney Park, IL passed away on Saturday April 20, 2024. Born August 29, 1963, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of John and Rita (VanVleck) Padgett. Graduated from East High School, Class of 1981. Sherry received multiple associate degrees through Rockford Business College. She married James Hayes in 1996 in Las Vegas. Sherry was a devoted wife and very loving mother. Her grandchildren were her life's passion. She loved to spend all her free time with her grandchildren. Trips to the park and zoo were always a must. Sherry loved trying to play video games like the wii and dancing to Black Eyed Peas in the living room. She let her grandchildren do anything that was fun such as making a play with costumes and programs, having a snowball fight inside the house, or feeding the "pet" Gardner snakes in the backyard. Sherry took care of every child she knew like they were her own children. She also loved animals like they were her children too. Sherry had so many pets, from the pet skunk she had as a kid to the many many dogs and cats she adored. She was always up for an adventure and never missed an opportunity to have fun and take lots of pictures. Survivors include her husband, James; children, Krista (Tim) Hubler and Matthew (Veroneca) Gaston; grandchildren, Robert, William, Tyler, and Alexander Hubler, Scarlett, and Frankie Gaston; father, John Padget; mother, Rita Dublo; brother, John Padgett, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; and loving pet dog, Walter. We will forever miss the way she loved us all. We will continue to hold her in our hearts as we keep the adventures and photography going on in her memory.

Judith M. Snively, 82, of Caledonia, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, WI. Her positivity during her two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer was an inspiration to everyone around her. Born February 20, 1942, in Hinsdale, IL, the daughter of George and Marie (Seiler) Rungger. She married Bruce Snively on June 13, 1964, after graduating from Northern Illinois University in 1964. She taught home economics in the Harlem District at Marshall Middle School for two years, before becoming a stay-at-home mother as well as assisting with the family business. She traveled on road trips as a kid with her parents all over the U.S. Judy loved taking her girls swimming and Sunday night family dinner at their grandparents’ house. Later in life, she traveled with her family attending Evinrude dealer meetings in Nashville, Tennessee, Minnesota, and Idaho. She enjoyed visiting her parents in Downers Grove during the summer and many weekend trips with her family. She loved her horses, cats, dogs, and would adopt stray animals. Judy looked forward to annual visits with her sister. She was always known as the horseshow, homeroom, 4-H and Brownie mom. Survivors include her husband, Bruce; daughters, Jodi (Greg) Appelgren, Shelly (Mike) Osborne, Deanna (Brian) Ament, and Krista (John) Daubert; sister, Karen (Rod) Hiddleston; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces; one nephew; numerous cousins; many loving friends.
