Peter Farkas joined the MassHire Greater Lowell Workforce Board as Executive Director in 2017. He came to Lowell with over 10 years of experience designing and implementing workforce development programs. Previously, Peter held positions as a Youth Services Director and an Associate Director at the Metro North Regional Employment Board in Cambridge.
Under his leadership, in his first three years in Greater Lowell, the workforce board and career center have increased its budget by $3.3M by securing competitive funding through federal, state, and private foundation grants. The impact of the new funding has resulted in job training for youth with disabilities, recipients of public assistance, low income youth, returning citizens, and individuals impacted by the opioid crisis.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts from UMass Amherst and a Master of Business Administration from Suffolk University. He was born and raised in the Berkshires and currently resides in Tewksbury.
