LTLC item of the month: Poly Box Trucks

Good morning,

As we prepare for the winter, we are in great need of a few items. We are looking to acquire between 2 - 4 Poly Box Trucks for our daily laundry duties. We wash between 100 to 300 pounds of linen every day and these items will help provide organized laundry services to our clients. Please email [email protected] to inquire.

New preferred. Used okay.

We would like to thank internationally acclaimed composer, pianist, and inspirational speaker Eric Genius for stopping by the shelter this week to put on a beautiful performance for our guests.

Please join us in congratulating
Kevin Guivas-Jimenez who won one of SMOC’s employee of the year awards.

Kevin joined our team in 2020 as a Program Advocate, he was promoted into shift leader shortly after. Most recently he was promoted to Case Manager of the Engagement Bed Program, a program designated to help the most vulnerable and at risk individuals.

Kevin has been a great leader and a wonderful advocate of the homeless. We are very proud that he received this award.

Join us in fighting stigma.

Lowell Transitional Living Center (LTLC) provides the most vulnerable adults in the Merrimack Valley with shelter, showers, laundry, and meals. Our Case Managers specialize in housing, financial assistance, and health and wellness. They are here to empower guests and become partners in the journey from homelessness to housing.

The role of a case manager is to adapt individual service plans to meet each person’s needs. This can range from obtaining a form of identification and health insurance all the way to advocating on their behalf to receive fair access to affordable housing.

Case Managers promote overall stability, emphasizing physical and behavioral health and nutrition. When needed, our case managers work with those in need of drug/alcohol rehabilitation through relationships with local rehabilitation programs, as well as proving transportation.

Our approach matches what people experiencing homelessness want and seek our help to achieve, and it is particularly effective for people who have lost their homes due to a personal crisis.
