BREAKING NEWS: Pawtucketville’s last day of school is TOMORROW, Tuesday, June 18th. This is a full day. Please make sure your children know how they are getting home.

Our annual 4th Grade Clap-Out will also be tomorrow, Tuesday, June 18th at 3:00pm. We will open our doors to parents/guardians at 2:50pm to start the line-up in the main hallway.

It is going to be very hot tomorrow. Please apply sunblock to your student(s) before sending them to school and be sure to send them with a bottle of water.

The weather for tomorrow looks beautiful so Field Day is on! Make sure students bring a water bottle, wear sneakers, and put on plenty of sunscreen before coming to school. Please have your student wear their grade-level colors!

Our second and third grade students were thrilled to welcome not one, but two, authors today. Kate Messner and Rajani Larocca visited Pawtucketville as part of their book tour promoting the first two books in the new series, THE KIDS IN MRS. Z'S CLASS.

During the presentation, the authors shared the inspiration behind the series and talked about their writing process. They also led a short writing workshop in which students created a character using the same worksheet that the series authors used to develop all of the kids in Mrs. Z's class.

All second and third grade students received one of the new books, signed by the authors.

Superintendent of Schools Liam Skinner is happy to announce Paula Jones has been chosen as the Principal of the Pawtucketville Memorial Elementary School for the upcoming school year.

Jones has been the Principal of the Henry Wilson Elementary School in Manchester, NH since 2020, where she has demonstrated exemplary leadership in navigating challenges and implementing innovative solutions to meet the diverse needs of students and the community.

During her tenure at the school, she spearheaded the development and ex*****on of a Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSI), successfully strategizing and meeting key goals to enhance the overall educational experience. Her strategic evaluation and alignment of the Title I grant with district and school objectives have further reinforced her commitment to equity and excellence in education.

Prior to her role at Henry Wilson Elementary, Jones served as the Principal of Highlands Elementary School in Danvers. She began her career as a classroom teacher in Marblehead, where she demonstrated a passion for differentiated instruction and academic excellence.

Jones holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Salem State College and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Administration K-8.

She looks forward to joining the Lowell Public Schools and Pawtucketville Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year. She will replace Principal Michael Munroe, who has served as PMES principal this school year and is leaving the district to pursue another professional opportunity.

Just a friendly reminder that our last day of school is June 20th!

Because a lot of you have been asking - mark your calendars. The last day of school will be June 18 for all schools except Pawtucketville Memorial, who had an extra day off at the beginning of the year. Their last day is Thursday June 20 because the 19th is a holiday.

Sign-ups for the Lowell Police Student Police Academy (incoming 5-8 graders) takes place at the STEM Academy gym on Wednesday May 8. Camp hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. More info below.

Join us this summer for exciting and fun learning opportunities. Our Summer Program will take place at Pawtucketville Elementary and will run from July 8th - August 2nd. Students are expected to attend each day of the program. School hours are 9:10-12:30, Monday through Friday. This program is for students currently in kindergarten through fourth grade. Register soon as the program will fill up quickly.

LPS 2024-2025 School Calendar

Here it is! The approved school calendar for next year (2024-2025). First day of school for grades 1-12 is Tuesday August 27. An exciting highlight is that Good Friday falls on the Friday before April vacation!

All P'ville students will be participating in our annual Hoop-A-Thon this week! All proceeds will help fund field trips, transportation, and other fun school activities! Please return this form and donations before April 30th. Thank you for your support!

We will be starting our next session of Before and After-School Programs during the week of April 29th and will run through June 6th. Please note the required grade level for the program you are signing your student up for.

We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to update you regarding the Grade 4 MCAS ELA test schedule.

Session 2 will now take place tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9th.

Due to the delayed school opening last Thursday, Session 1 of the test was moved to Friday, April 5th. Session 2 was initially rescheduled for Thursday, April 11th. However, unforeseen circumstances beyond our control have led to another change.

We understand that these adjustments may be inconvenient, and we appreciate your understanding. It's important that students are present for the test tomorrow. To help them prepare, please ensure they get a good night's sleep tonight and a nutritious breakfast in the morning.

Due to today's inclement weather and the delayed opening of school, the administration of Session 1 of the Grade 4 MCAS ELA test had to be canceled. As a result, Session 1 will now take place tomorrow, Friday, April 5th. Additionally, Session 2 has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 11th.

It's important that all students are present in school tomorrow for the test administration. Please help them prepare by ensuring they get a good night's sleep tonight and have a nutritious breakfast in the morning.

We kindly request that you avoid scheduling any appointments for next Thursday, April 11th, to ensure students are present for the administration of Session 2.
