We always have healing time questions about the 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐱.
This piercing is done at the front ridge of your cartilage and depending on how many is done at once, will determine the length of the healing time.
These piercings can take a 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗨𝗠 6-12 months to fully heal.
It is important to always consult with your piercer during the process for healing questions!

What is migration?
This is considered to be the process of the piercing moving slowly away from the original placement. As difficult as it may be, we do stress to our clients that 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 or even 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 can cause migration of a piercing.
Some piercings for example that would be considered 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐊 are, naval, dermal, surfaces on the face like eyebrow or cheek and some parts of the ear.
If you notice over the process that the skin around the jewelry begins to look thinner or the piercing holes begin to look larger than the jewelry itself, you might be in the migration stage.
Some jewelry may shift a small amount during the healing process but isn't always considered a high risk migration.
Notice in the photo, the cartilage piercings were parallel, with diamonds facing straight ahead. After 𝟓 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬, the piercings have now angled their faces almost completely touching, with the backs posing in opposite directions.
It's important to consult with your piercer to see what other steps can be taken because some are salvageable but others will require a complete redo.
