It’s time for a new ball pit at the Ronald McDonald House! Our old ball pit was a generous gift from a former family. It was well-loved and played in almost everyday. It was sadly time to say goodbye to our old one…but we are excited to have a new one and had a kid immediately jump in once it was filled. #rmhcsouthwest #keepingfamiliesclose #ballpit

Join us on a walk through our Reflection Garden as we head into #mentalhealthawarenessmonth. Our Reflection Garden is just one of the spaces at the House where families can take a moment to relax, reflect, and spend some time focusing on their mental health.

We’ve loved watching Nikola grow over the past couple of years! Nikola got to ring the "Good News" Bell at the House before heading back home again.

Happy Easter!

The Browne Family stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock last year for 27 nights. They spent their first Easter as a family of 6 here at the House while their littlest was across the street in the NICU. We hope you enjoy listening to their story of how important having a home away from home is when your child is sick. Thank you so much to the Browne Family for sharing their story! Sara and Dayne are such amazing advocates for RMHC and so incredibly kind and generous with their time for this project. The Browne kids are sweet and fun and silly...and only a little mischievous. And, baby Darrell was so patient with how much strangers wanted to coo over him! And, thank you to The Owen Group Advertising for making this beautiful video! They were accommodating in working with everyone's schedule and making sure to get this video done before our Gala. They are also so good at being compassionate and gentle when talking with our families about some of the most traumatic times of their lives. Thank you!

And just like that…time for our 2024 Red Shoe Gala!

Today is the last day we can post this video commemorating our 35th Anniversary! Tomorrow is our 36th Anniversary, which makes it a great time to look back at how very far we have come over the past 35 (almost 36 years)! Thank you to all our supporters for your dedication to #KeepingFamiliesClose!

It's easy to donate your cans to RMHC of the Southwest! Swing by the Ronald McDonald House at 3413 10th St and toss them into our can trailer located in our parking lot. Or, if you have bags/jugs/buckets (we’ve seen them all!) of pop tabs that aren’t easy to put into the trailer, drop them off at the House. Thanks for being part of #KeepingFamiliesClose !

Thanks to our friends at Kona Ice of South Lubbock and Redbird Water, it's easy for our families (and staff) to make the perfect cup of water at RMHC of the Southwest! 🧊💧❤️

If you’re looking for a last minute gift idea, the Southern Living Christmas Cookbook from Dillard’s is a great option. We made the King Ranch Chicken Cheesy Mac for the families in our House last week and it was delicious. The cookbook has a lot of yummy recipes and the proceeds from the sales come back to your local RMHC.

We're so excited about our new pancake machine at the House! Thank you to Roof Master for their funding to provide hot, delicious pancakes for our families. Kids, adults, and even elves have been really enjoying it.

When you Round-Up for RMHC at participating McDonald’s restaurants, you help families with seriously ill children feel at home, even when they can’t be. RMHC of the Southwest's local McDonald's are participating in a competition through Monday, Dec. 4, to see whose restaurant and customers can raise the most for RMHC. Now is a great time to be part of #KeepingFamiliesClose!

The Texas Tech Red Raiders regular season brought us to a total of 21 sacks! They still have time to add more to our total with their bowl game. We'll be following along to see which game they'll be playing at and cheer them on through to the end. You can join us and pledge to Support And Comfort Kids (S.A.C.K.) at www.rmhcsouthwest.com/quarterback-sack.

We're up to 18 sacks total for the season after Texas Tech's win on Saturday! Every additional sack the Red Raiders get means more support for families who have a child receiving medical care. You can join Supporting And Comforting Kids (S.A.C.K.) team by pledging or donating today: www.rmhcsouthwest.com/quarterback-sack.

The Gilbreath Family
The Gilbreath Family stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock for 9 months last year while Eliseo was receiving medical care. We were able to sit down with 3 members of the family this summer when they came back to the House to celebrate Eliseo's Make-A-Wish and talk about their experience. Thanks to donors and volunteers like you, the Gilbreaths and hundreds of families like them each year don't feel alone when their child is taking on their biggest fight. There is still time to get involved before the year ends. Donate or sign up to volunteer at www.rmhcsouthwest.com.

We've heard a rumor* that this local opossum ran out onto the field at last week's Texas Tech game to remind everyone there is still time to pledge or donate to RMHC's Quarterback S.A.C.K. Pledge or donate today at www.rmhcsouthwest.com/quarterback-sack. *This is a rumor we are starting.
