Hudson Hornet Band

What an AMAZING trip! This past week, members of the band traveled to Florida and then to the Bahamas onboard the Carnival Elation Cruise Ship! It was an absolute BLAST!

Just so you know, the pictures do not do any of it justice. It was an amazing trip and I am incredibly proud and thankful of our students and chaperones for being awesome.

We are on the road! Traveling to Jacksonville Florida today, then Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas tomorrow!

Members of the Hudson Beginning and Middle School Bands traveled to Spring, TX to spend the day at Hurricane Harbor. The kids had a lot of fun. Thanks for a great year.

Members of the Hudson Band traveled to watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert at the Houston Symphony today! It was absolutely fantastic!

Today, students who achieved a Superior Rating at Solo and Ensemble or made the Middle School All Region Band were treated to a field trip to Itz Bowling. Thanks for all of your hard work!

Today, Hudson Middle School Band students went to Lumberton High School to compete in Solo and Ensemble competition. I am pleased to announce that 13 students received Superior ratings and 1 received an Excellent rating. Could not be any more proud of these students.

Today, members of the Hudson Middle School Symphonic Band competed at UIL Concert & Sightreading contest. They scored an excellent rating on stage and in the sightreading room! We are very proud of them for their hard work!

Congratulations to our All-State Clarinetist, Sonia Rivas, for an outstanding concert with the ATSSB All-State Symphonic Band! The concert was absolutely fantastic and we are so proud of her!

Today, 28 members of the Hudson Band traveled to compete in the UIL Solo & Ensemble competition and we came back with came back with 25 first division medals!

On top of that, we have 10 students advancing to UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble in May! To be more specific, we have one Clarinet Quartet, one Percussion sextet, two Marimba Soloists and two Brass Soloists representing Hudson!

We are extremely proud of all students that decided to go above and beyond to prepare for this event. Congratulations to all students for their success today!

The past two days, members of the Hudson HS and MS bands performed in the ATSSSB Region X All-Region Bands! It was an excellent concert and we are extremely proud of their accomplishments!

Today, several members of the Hudson band auditioned at the area level for the ATSSB All-State Band. We are extremely proud of all of the students who auditioned!

Congratulations to Sonia Rivas for placing 5th in the Area on Bb Clarinet and making the ATSSB 4A All-State Band! This is her 2nd consecutive year making the band! She will represent our Area, Region and School District as she performes at the Texas Music Educator’s Association in February!

Couldn’t be any happier about how these students played their concert

Students were able to go on this trip because they achieved objectives outside of class work. These students hard work and dedication toward their craft is commendable and I couldn’t be any more proud of these students.

It was a great day for the Hudson Band! Today, members of the Hudson Band auditioned for a position in the ATSSB Region X All-Region Band! We had 18 students earn a chair in the band and 8 of them advanced to the Area! Those 8 students will audition again in January and try to earn a spot in the ATSSB All-State Band!

We are extremely proud of all of our students who auditioned today, even if they didn't make the band. All of our students put a lot of time and hard work into learning this music and ALL of them are better musicians for learning it.

I am so proud of you ALL! It's a GREAT day to be a Hornet!

Before the Thanksgiving Break, members of our HS Jazz Band performed in the Region X All-Region Jazz Clinic and Concert. It was a great few days of rehearsal, learning from Mr. Travis Harris, and performing a spectacular concert!
