En Polvo Homemade Alfajores

✨️🩷✨️ Caity (me) is a little lost for words at the moment. I have now found out I have a severely herniated disc and will be needing surgery before I can get back to business as usual. This issue has been an uphill climb since March of last year, and knowing that relief is not far off is highly motivating. More than 500 days of pain, progress, setbacks, and so on might finally be coming to a close. The surgery is yet to be scheduled, but until I'm confident I can bake without immense pain or breakdown, I will be hanging up my apron.

My small baking hustle is all I have of my own. I won't get into things, but it's been so rewarding and uplifting to do what I have so far. I'm not giving it up, and I can't wait to get back in the swing of things once I'm healed.

As for my family's move... I think we're up to the task if we take our time. We will be out of this house by the end of the month! 🥰🏡

When I return, I'm planning to host another fabulous local giveaway celebrating my good health and the amazing friends I've made around town. More info on that front in the weeks to come.

🩷🏡👫🏻🎉 I'm so happy to share with my followers that my family has such exciting news! Earlier this week, we closed on our second home and will be moving across town by the end of August! We will be located behind the Boonsboro Road Kroger and can't wait to meet even more new friends and neighbors.

Getting to share my homemade confections has meant so much to me these last two years. Being different and disabled has kept me from the type of work I always thought I'd end up doing. But, being full of passion for quality desserts and sharing my creativity with folks has not only given me much joy, but it also gave me a bit of purpose and something special to call my own. I can't wait to settle into my new home and let the creativity start flowing. It even has two kitchens and ovens! Such an upgrade from my two little toaster ovens I've been relying on, lol. This is just such a blessing. I couldn't be more proud of my family and grateful to be here in Lynchburg, where I'm happier than ever.

I'll be operating out of my current home in Florida Ave awhile longer still. By September, you can find me on Clayton Avenue across town.

🍞🍞🍞 Sharing a slice of my morning with yall today! My dad taught me how to make French toast before I could even talk. He never served them with maple syrup, but instead finished these crispy, fluffy, golden slices with a touch of fresh lemon juice and powdered sugar. German style he calls it. I may have added a smidge of white sugar for a lil crunch, but the sweet citrus flavor will always remind me of my awesome father. I also prefer to use fresh ground Mexican cinnamon for the ultimate flavor. 😋

👩🏻‍🍳 A short update. I will not be vending on days with very high temperatures, and so will not be vending this weekend. It's not in my customers' best interest to enjoy my treats unless they're at their freshest and safest. If you're looking for any of my signature items this summer, please consider booking an order ahead of time so that I can deliver the highest quality treats and service to you.
