Our Story

Buddy Break is a free respite program where children with special needs (VIPs) and their siblings make new friends, play fun games, enjoy crafts, stories, music activities, and much more while their caregivers get a much needed break! This program is for VIP children birth ages: 2-16 years old, and their siblings: 4 years old to 5th grade.

VIPs are kids with special needs, which include any physical, cognitive, medical or hidden disability, chronic or life-threatening illness, or those who are medically fragile.

Buddy Break at Raiford Road Church takes place the first Saturday of each month unless otherwise noted.

Buddy Break is 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Each VIP kid and their sibling is paired one-on-one with a volunteer Buddy to participate in that day's activities. All Buddies are trained and undergo national and local background and reference checks.

Contact us to reserve your space at our next Buddy Break. Your first visit will include a VIP orientation which allows us to meet you and your children and gives you a chance to see Buddy Break before you begin participating.

Once you have signed up for the program and have gone through orientation, you'll need to make a reservation for each month that you want to attend Buddy Break. Space is limited and pre-registration is required, so register early!
