Whether it's a ribbon for accomplishing a new skill, being a good listener, swimming the length of the pool or following the golden rules - every ribbon is a chance for kiddos to feel recognized, encouraged, and cheered on - and we can't get enough of that! 🤩

Today is World Oceans Day, a day dedicated to Celebrating ocean life and working to protect our oceans and act sustainably. 🌊 Bubbles has some Fintastic Friends that call the ocean home, and their names are Lulu, Jitt, Freeya, and Sloan.

In remembrance of our nation's heroes this Memorial Day, we'd like to pay our respects and thank all those who so bravely fought for our country. US. ❤️

While many also mark this day as the start of summer, it's important to remember the true meaning of this day, and what it means to so many. Never forget, ever honor.

As parents, it seems like no matter how much we try to plan and schedule inevitably something will eventually happen to cause those plans or that schedule to go right out the window. 😅 We've been there.

While we can't keep those plans or schedules from getting rearranged, we can make it easy to schedule your make-up swim lessons! Today's Water Safety Wednesday is particularly special because it just so happens to be International Water Safety Day! This day aims to increase awareness of drowning and the critical need for water safety education. As you probably already know, this is a mission we're deeply passionate about and pursue every single day. 🌊

It’s time for a Water Safety Wednesday special edition! Earlier this month, we talked about the benefits of change and doing something new with our friend Freeya. 🐬 Freeya and Lulu get along swimmingly because when we pair trying new things with repetition we can open a whole world of mastery and possibility!

Research shows that kids need repetition to learn, in fact, repetition is often the foundation of learning and recall for them. 🐙 So if you ever wonder why we practice a skill over and over (and over) again, it’s because this is how little ones learn, and these are skills we want them to be able to instantly recall should they ever need to use them!

When summer arrives, visions of trips to the beach, pool days, and more are top of mind for so many of us. 🏖️ Now is the time for kids to be learning and building those critical water safety skills so that they’re ready to splash into summer fun safely!

At Goldfish, we’re all about providing the best possible experience for our swimmers and their families. That’s why we utilize things like weekly feedback and skill evaluations, and teaching to the individual. If you swim with us, we hope you’re already familiar with the first two, but you might not be aware of the third one.

This is because it happens during every swim lesson, often without being dedicated by the outside eye! Teaching to the individual, using progressions, allows our instructors to meet every student where they are providing them the attention and direction they need! ☺️

Water Safety Wednesday - "Safer Summers Start Now" edition! 🌊 Believe it or not, summer break and summer vacations will soon start popping up on calendars. Now is a great time to make sure your little ones are enrolled in swim lessons so that they can have a safer summer!
It takes time for kiddos to learn new skills (or refresh if they've been out of lessons for a bit). 🐟 Beginning swim lessons now means that kids have more time to learn the life-saving water safety skills you want them to have so that everyone can enjoy a splash-tastic summer! 🤩

Some of our favorite tools to help swimmers learn how to swim and make learning fun! From duck mats to dive rings, canoes to kick boards and so many other fun props and toys in between, these are all tools that help our little fish learn best.
