Here we see a drill where athletes have to adjust to a command mid juggle, and change direction and path of the tennis balls.
Our S.M.R.T Method sport of the day today is soccer. Take a look at some of way you or your young Messi can benefit from training the sensory motor system.
Competition brings out the best in all of us! with the championship match of the reaction time gauntlet. Working on these athletes split second decision making will help acclimate them to similar decisions on the ice. As you can see these boys are absolutely dialed in!
Peripheral vision and contrast sensitivity all in one drill!!
This drill allows us help our athletes accurately identify what is in their periphery. Things like teammates, incoming opponents, balls, etc… this differentiation is important across all sport and improving it is directly correlated to sports performance.
Contrast sensitivity specific focus today with our two longest tenured members!
On the sensory station, Storm Owens trains his visual shift and contrast sensitivity with a module called “Visual Search” in which he must identify a translucent puck amongst a slew of similar looking shapes and a black and white background.
On the S.M.R.T. Sticks, Owen works his contrast sensitivity, near far quickness, and reaction time by waving in front of the FitLight that matches the one down-range.
Storm and Owen are approaching the six month mark and have both shown significant improvement in their tests. Along with testimony of improved performance during competition.
Working some multiple object tracking with multi limb coordination. This drill helps improve our athletes ability to focus on multiple people/objects simultaneously and can assist with similar stimuli during competition.
Working on some multiple object tracking with multi limb coordination tasks today! This helps our athlete focus on multiple visual stimuli simultaneously and can assist with seeing multiple people/objects during competition
